Dr. Axel William Joob, MD

In 1997 I had quadruple by-pass surgery when Dr. Joob was still at Northwestern. He and his team were excellent in every phase. I am twenty something years out and I have had nothing but positive reports and I am able to ride my bicycle 40 or 50 miles a week. Thank you again Axel.

My mother recently had lung surgery completed by Dr. Joob. He was professional, knowledgeable and compassionate throughout the consultation, surgery, recovery and follow-up. Would recommend him WITHOUT hesitation.

If there was an award for the best doctor I would give it to him. Dr. Joob is the only doctor I've met who has gone out of his way to help figure out what is wrong with me. He even took the initiative to contact my other doctors during my office visit to review my case. He spent over an hour each time during office visits to go over all my questions and imaging scans to show me the issues, what he thinks, his recommendations. He is the only doctor to ask and go in detail over ALL my symptoms even outside of his specialty (thoracic). Other thoracic surgeons I visited from different hospitals spent less than 5 minutes with me while Dr Joob spent an hour. Appointments are also easy to get. His staff is also very friendly. I wish all doctors were like him.

Dr. Joob has made surgery, recovery and follow-up visits as pleasant as such experiences can be. He makes you feel comfortable immediately, and is always around to answer questions and concerns. He cares about his patients and their families. He is truly the BEST.

I can't say enough good things about Dr Joob. He did a thymectomy on me and from the first visit to his office, I had complete confidence in him. He explains everything well and is always there to answer your questions. I credit my speedy recovery to his constant, personable care. I can only imagine how many patients he has on any given day, yet I felt like I was his one and only patient with his non-rushed manner and care.

In Sept.1994 I needed a lumpectomy of my right lung. Dr.Join was my surgeon and he left nothing to chance. He walked me through the entire procedure and was not satisfied until I understood the complete process. He is not like most thoracic surgeons, he's not a mechanic, he really is concerned about his patients. THANKS FOR SAVING MY LIFE....

Dr. Joob is the most conscientious and caring Dr. that I have ever had in my life.He removed half of my left malignant lung. He was there to see me in every day in ICU post surgery at 6:00 AM. When I moved out of ICU he saw me every day at 8:00AM because he was visiting his ICU patients.In my opinion, he is a great surgeon that REALLY & GENUINELY cares about all he treats.

Not only is he a brilliant physician, but he has the rare quality of being great with patients and has over the top devotion to them. He saved my dad's life. We thank God that Dr. Joob decided to become a surgeon. We never felt anything but 100% trust in his knowledge and skills.

Dr. Joob did a triple bypass on my father. He is not only a great surgeon, but a great doctor as well. His caring and compassion are unequaled. I would recommend him to anyone.
