Dr. Aysel Kurda Sanderson, MD

I had bilateral breast reduction done by Dr. Sanderson 17 years ago, when her office was in Bellevue. She did an excellent job, and I'm still pleased with the outcome all these years later. The only problem I had, and it continues still, the fatty area that continued from the side breast to the area on my sides was reduced with a liposuction wand. There is a wand shaped band of scar tissue under both arms, and it's still uncomfortable and makes every bra I've bought (well over 100) uncomfortable as well. That's the only reason I didn't give her 5 stars. My sister and niece had this procedure done at two different plastic surgeons, but neither of them have had this problem, though our body shapes were virtually identical pre-surgery. Atypical lobular cells were found in the breast tissue removed, but the lab results weren't provided to Dr Sanderson until the day after surgery. This initially put me in a higher risk group of about 12% for breast cancer. I have undergone several breast… biopsies and multiple tests over the years, and am now in a 30% risk group. In hindsight, had I known this was a possibility prior to undergoing breast reduction, I would have opted to have the breasts removed. I live in ongoing discomfort and fear now.
