Dr. Aziz Nazha, MD

I wish I could give 0 or even negative stars. As a PA, I have trained with and worked with a large number of physicians, PAs, NPs, and others in a variety of specialties. NEVER have I EVER seen someone treat a patient and family with such rudeness and disrespect as Dr. Aziz Nazha did at the Cleveland Clinic. He made comments such as, “I don’t care if you come to me for treatment or not.. if I see 8 patients a day or 20 a day, I still get paid the same” and “You’re in your late 60s and too old to have a stem cell transplant. Why would you put a donor through that?” My grandfather was basically told that no donor should go through the process of donating to him because he wasn’t important enough. Dr. Nazha didn’t explain that his age could make the transplant difficult and put him at a greater risk for complications, he just said that no donor should go through that for my grandfather because he was “too old.” He then got up and left the room without saying a word to them about whether… there should be follow up or not. This was not until after he reached up and hastily grabbed the clip used to monitor waiting time off of my grandfather’s shirt and threw it on the desk without any comment. My grandmother filed a complaint, and nothing was done other than sending her a letter that said they talked to Dr. Nazha and he said sorry and that he didn’t feel there should be any treatment done for the cancer my grandfather has. They addressed the problem more in the way of her questioning the treatment plan vs. her complaining about the disrespect that was shown to them.
