Dr. Babak Hassid, MD

Dr. Hassid is highly skilled, knowledgable, and kind. I entered Lenox Hill Hospital ER having a heart attack, and Dr. Hassid saved my life by placing four stents in my RCA. He rebuilt my artery in less than an hour and he reassured me I would go on to have a normal, healthy life. When I visited Dr. Hassid for post-procedure care he took the time to explain treatment and showed empathy and concern for my plight as a patient. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Hassid. I feel so fortunate to have him as my doctor.

Was admitted to Lenox Hill via emergency room visit due to chest pain. Was seen by a cardiologist (not Hassid) in the AM who recommended immediate angiogram. Procedure was scheduled for early afternoon, but Hassid showed up more than an hour late and barely apologized. Obviously of greatest importance was his performance of the procedure - which was excellent. He found a 90% blockage of my circumflex coronary artery and installed a stent with almost no pain and with me awake and aware most of the procedure. Unfortunately, after the procedure was completed, he failed to advise my wife of the results until after she complained that he hadn't. By comparison, from nurses to orderlies to physician assistant, the rest of the staff members at Lenox Hill Hospital were GREAT. The level of care and attentiveness I received from them was superb. I hope that Dr. Hassid (who is clearly very capable) will one day become a superb physician by learning from his peers that excellent medical… care includes caring about his patients and their family.
