f I could give zero stars, I would. We trusted this pediatrician with our daughter, only to leave terrified, confused, and financially exploited. Instead of providing thoughtful care, she immediately pushed us into a battery of unnecessary tests that dragged on for hours, leaving our daughter exhausted and us in tears. We later learned from a highly respected second opinion that these tests were not only unnecessary but are part of a known pattern this doctor uses to aggressively bill insurance companies. This wasn’t medicine; it was profiteering. Compassion was nowhere to be found. We were treated like numbers on a billing sheet, not a family seeking help. To make matters worse, her office has completely abandoned us since. Multiple calls for help correcting basic errors on bloodwork billing have gone unanswered. The staff doesn’t return calls, doesn’t provide follow-up, and offers zero support. Once they’ve run up the charges, you’re on your own. A pediatrician should ease fear,… not manufacture it. They should build trust, not shatter it. If you value your child’s well-being, your peace of mind, and your time, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. This practice is not to be trusted

My daughter's doctor she's excellent

I used to go to other children's hospitals where we first saw a nurse, then a medical student, then a resident, then a fellow.... then finally the Doctor, the visit took half the day. At Cedars Dr Schweiger see's us right away. I saw another review where a Parent complained about the cost of a MRI or lab test... I asked Dr Schweiger and she is a salaried staff member of Cedars. So this is not her private practice. She does not do the billing, its the Cedars Billing department. And she of course, has no control over the Radiology Dept or the Lab, or the parking or cafeteria. It does not seem fair to write a review of Dr Schweiger and complain about things beyond her visit or her control. Lets be fair, she is a great physician who listens to us, saves us time at the Dr office, treats our kids with the best medical care and we can see without a 6 month wait.

Dr. Schweiger seemed friendly and competent at the initial meeting. Just so you know, the initial visit is $500, which is pretty standard for a specialist these days. She recommended we do tests (surprised? Not at all.) so we walked down the hall to the lab to get them - not knowing the costs (hint: bad move on our part). The surprise came with the bills: The lab tests cost about $6,000. The MRI cost about $3,000. We had no idea at the time, until we got the bill, how much it would cost. Our insurance covered half. We think that doctors need to be able to tell us up front how much it is going to cost, and if it going to put you in the poor house. Would it be so awful to post their rates? To tell patients (guardians) which tests are going to be ordered, and know how much each test will cost? Two of the tests were well over $1,000 and insurance only covered $100 on them. We were so shocked. Maybe some of the tests could have been done elsewhere for less. Maybe the tests… weren't all that necessary. We will never know. But if the doctor knew, it would make a big difference. OK, so we were shell shocked by the bills. Pretty high, so we think we should get pretty good service. We have done the tests, followed up, and, although they were slow with getting us the referrals we needed, we eventually completed evaluations. Throughout the process, we had a difficult time getting through to the doctor and her staff. We were surprised at how slow the follow-up was in getting us referrals, how we needed to keep calling in order to get a call back from an assistant or the doctor if we had a question, and how short and direct her calls were, with clipped responses to questions about steps to take. This is pediatrics, so one expects the doctor to offer details and explanations. All in all, for what we paid, it was not a good experience on the back end. We had to think of the questions to ask, and try to know what to ask. It was frustrating to feel like you wasted thousands and thousands of dollars, and like the physician was not wanting to work with us because we weren't sitting in front of her in her exam room. Dr. Schwieger is a good doctor, but learn from my mistakes: Do research before you go to see the dr., have questions ready, know terminology - she will use it without explanation. Ask which tests will be run, ask how much they cost, ask if they are completely necessary, and see if you can find them for cheaper elsewhere than Cedars. Get the referral forms BEFORE you leave the office, because getting them afterward will be very hard. Also, avoid using Cedars online patient system - which the assistants will try to get you to do - because it is glitchy and lame. If you don't get the referral forms before you leave, have them send it to you via email and NOT as a CSonline link.

Great experience. So many of my friends suggested Dr Schweiger. She knows how to talk to the parents and kids.

Dr Schweiger has a wonderful heart, and works through the medical issues with both the parent and child. I was happy and sad to hear that Dr Schweiger has taken a job with the world-renowned Clevelend Clinic. I think I will fly there for my childs care from now on.
