Dr. Bala Chander Rangaswami, MD

I am an RN. Dr. Bala is the first doctor that I have ever gone to who actually makes you feel like a person and not a number or an income! He deeply cares and he spends the time necessary to diagnose and help. He does necessary tests and does not waste your time and money on tests that you do not need. He is warm and caring and takes the time to explain what you need and what your options are. I am allergic to many meds and he always finds a way to substitute. He will work with you on herbals and he will listen! Getting an appointment is difficult and some of his office help can be a bit snotty. (however, I recently learned this is only one person and she no works there.) Bala is so worth getting an appointment with, and so is Chrissy one of his very best NP's. You will never be sorry if you can get Dr. Bala to be your primary physician.

Worst managed Doctor's office I have ever been too. Dr. Bala is wonderful, but I've seen him only once in two years. He was the reason that I went there. No one ever calls you back, they mess up prescriptions nearly 75 percent of the time and sometimes when you call to follow up, they will tell you they have no record of your calling the first time. Really disappointed with the service I've received. If you can only deal with Dr. Bala, and good luck with that, you might enjoy coming to this office. He seems to be a great doctor with a wonderful personality.

I saw Dr Balla when my Dr was out of the office, I was very impressed. I want to switch to him as my primary care doctor. He is very nice and caring, I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr Bala is the best!!! Yes, it is difficult to get in to him, and yes sometimes that gets frustrating but when you do get to see him, he listens, cares and acts. When something goes wrong and you need him, leave a message, he answers his messages always! There is a reason it is so hard to get in to him, we all were needing a doctor who actually cares and listens! Yes it is helpful to get your medical records/results and follow up with them at an appointment but that is how most doctors offices are trending now. He is well worth any hassel that you may encounter.

Good luck getting to see him! His office doesn't call you with test results and if you call to get your results they don't bother to call you back. Not impressed! It's ok if you don't mind seeing a NP each visit and not getting test results!

Dr. Bala may be a great physician but I wouldn't know because I have never gotten to see him, only his nurse practioners. I had some testing done and never heard back about my results. I got my own test results and have a couple major things going on and have to see a couple specialists. So, I am not impressed with how their office is run and obviously Dr Bala and his nurse practioners don't bother to follow up with their patients after ordering tests.My test results show a couple life threatening illnesses if not treated promptly.

All types of medical professionals are available to assist each of us with various medical dilemmas. In Dr. Bala you will find a doctor which should meet all your needs re: listening to the patient who lives in the body in question "before" making his diagnosis, kindly asking questions with sincere interest, medical communication which is delivered in "plain" language, being conscientious about needlessly spending the patients money, being available in case of an emergency and the list goes on and on. He isn't just your doctor, he is your friend and when necessary, your advocate. A quality doctor with his standards, unfortunately, in today's society, is RARE! Because of my many diseases, including three (3) diseases on the rare disease registry, over the years I have been to many "AAA" specialists. I am most comfortable with Dr. Bala treating "ALL" my diseases. It is certainly wonderful to have "1" doctor in whom I have full faith and confidence. I am so "very blessed" to have Dr. Bala… for my personal physician. I can truly say that Dr. Bala loves each of his patients and is genuinely interested in their well-being!!!

You will want to schedule an appointment just for the hugs! Great,caring man who will go out of his way to help someone. Makes you feel like you matter, you are a person,not just a patient..

Dr. Bala is Awesome! Outstanding care and bedside manner. He makes you feel like a family member!

Dr. Bala was my doctor in 2000 when he was in Terre Haute, IN. I really miss his bedside manner and his caring attitude. I always got a hug when I saw him, in or out of the office. He diagnosed my heart problem even before I knew I had a problem. I can believe there is a waiting list to see him. His Mother was a wonderful physician also in Louisville.
