Dr Charlu diagnoses and explains a treatment plan very quickly. Listen carefully or ask questions, and he will clarify his diagnosis and treatment plan. In my case, his pain management treatments have been successful within the parameters he explains. He also has explained to me the underlying causes of my pain and whether another specialist should be consulted. With his treatment I am significantly more functional than I was before and can conduct almost all activities I wish.

After many years of abject back pain, finding Dr. Charlu has been a ray of light in my life. I can finally enjoy time with my family and friends with little to no pain. I am very grateful and will recommend Dr. Charlu to anyone that has back pain.

He has an arrogant attitude and during the almost entire 15 minutes of the follow up consultation he was looking at the computer and the few 3 minutes he was facing me when I was talking he was mimic the movements of my hands so I told him. He was unable to solve my pain and referred me to another dr who had more experience according to him .

I initially went to a pain doctor in Mission Viejo for a sacroiliac joint injection and it was an excruciating experience. Since then, I have been to Dr. Charlu 3-4 times for the same procedure. While injections are never a pleasant thing to look forward to, I never walk out of Dr. Charlu's office feeling like the experience was painful. He will slowly numb the area and slowly introduce some lidocaine to make the steroid injection less painful. Given that I'm always apprehensive, my standard joke is "Don't be stingy with the lidocaine." No matter what, Dr. Charlu takes his time, talks to patients to put them at ease, mentions what is going on at various steps ("a little pinch now," a "little pressure for 10 seconds," etc). During office visits, Dr. Charlu is a fast talker so be prepared to interject with questions if you feel that you need to make good use of your time.
