Dr Banu Brar, MD

My family and I all were under Dr. Brar's care from 2008-2018. In those ten years, she treated all three of my children. While I valued the immediate solution of medication at first, it became very apparent over time that she did not know what she was doing. To start, all three of my children who saw her for TEN years were diagnosed with autism only after leaving her care. She misdiagnosed my two girls with general social anxiety, and my son with anger issues. Instead of providing support, she gave us a myriad of different medications to try. Mood stabilizers, anti-depressants, anti-psychotics, and more were used over their childhoods (ages spanning all the way from seven to seventeen). GUESS WHAT! It turns out NO medications treat autism. I deeply regret the effect this has had on my children emotionally as well as physically, and I wish I knew better than to ever step foot in this office.

She does not take the time to establish a rapport. She also does not listen because she is too busy pontificating her own viewpoint (which would be revised if she actually COMMUNICATED via a conversation). It is more a monolog.

This woman was the rudest, most insensitive doctor I've encountered. I had been sexually attacked when I was younger and have extreme PTSD because of it. She badgered me about not reporting it and was very unsympathetic. When I explained to her my reasons, she basically implied that it's my fault since I never reported it. I've come to learn later from my therapist that many of her clients found her harsh and abrasive.
