Primum non nocere. First, do no harm. It is the foundational principle of medical practice, and it apparently did not make the impression on Dr. Nhan that medical school should have left. I came in with real concerns. They were dismissed. Questions went unanswered. My history was treated as an inconvenience rather than a clinical picture worth understanding. At one point it started to feel like she had already decided who I was before I opened my mouth. Then I read my own chart notes. Dr. Nhan documented that I was on my phone for the entire session. What she did not document is that she wrote that observation using DAX Copilot, an AI ambient recording system, which means she was at her computer for the entire visit. She used an AI transcription tool to note that I was on my phone while she was on her computer. I don't ever remember consenting to AI of any kind would be involved in my care. That is not a minor oversight. Patients have a right to know when their clinical encounter is… being recorded and processed by an artificial intelligence system. I did not receive that courtesy. I extended good faith at every step and was met with indifference at every step. Do not see Dr. Nhan if your health actually matters to you.
