I chose one star because: My client (who is like a father to me) has been in Meritus Medical Center for about two weeks now with excruciating back pain which stems from a compression fracture in his lower back. He is 78 years old, a leg amputee, and a veteran! Dr. Swamys bedside manner is unprofessional and rushed. He did not express concerns, nor did he once try any other type of practice or solution to help make my dad feel better other than pump him full of addictive pain medication and muscle relaxers. He then tries to send him home when he was not able to even sit up. He refused to put notes in my dads file for Medicare to review so they wouldn't deny treatment at meritus...and also refused to send him home with the pain medication he needed. Every time he stepped in the room he was there maybe a minute each time and always expressed the same concerns. "How are you feeling? Are you in pain? Yes? Continue with physical therapy" and then was out the door. Literally. He didnt even… talk to my dad directly when he was expressing problems/possibilities. I would never recommend, as we have a new Hospitalist and she is phenomenal. His pain is already manageable and he is sitting upright. They are conducting more extensive testing, he has received a new bed, new medications....why was this not achievable through Dr. swamy? No idea....but I do not recommend.
