Dr. Barbara F. Burrell, MD

She doesn't prescribe the right dose of thyroid medication from my blood work. Came in and told her of the horrible pain I had in my lower stomach that morning and she told me if it comes back go to ER or gynecologist! Never once touched my stomach to try to find the problem.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Burrell for several years but during that time mostly saw her nurse practioner Peggy Predis. After Peggy left I had two visits with Dr. Burrell. I found her to be very flighty and odd. She spent more time typing and reading her laptop than engaging with me and dismissed several of my questions and was very quick with the appointment. This led a very frustrating appointment of which I didn’t have answers. I have promptly switched doctors as I don’t think Dr. Burrell is the right fit for me.

Hands down one of the most rude doctors I have seen in my life. Horrible bedside manner. No personality or people skills. My family has been going to this office for 5 years and the only reason we have stayed was because we loved Peggy Predis and would be seen by her. Due to her leaving this clinic, we went back to seeing Dr Burrell and are officially leaving. In our opinion, she is very intrusive and cold and often lacks understanding and sympathy for patients pain and reason for visit. She is a Doctor, she probably has sufficient education, knowledge, and experience. However, that is not hard to find in a doctor. What makes the difference is their bedside manner and personality. And THAT is why we will not be returning.

moved out here 4 years ago. Surprised that I found someone I think I will be seeing the rest of the time I live in this area. Knows her stuff, easy to get along with and never have to wait more than a few minutes in the waiting room.

I have been a patient of Dr. Burrell for 8 years. She is fantastic. She takes the time to really listen to my concerns and I never feel rushed with her. I had uncontrolled diabetes prior to seeing her. After some fine tuning of my medications and tips on healthy living it is now controlled, I feel great and have even lost some weight! Getting an appointment is always easy and her nurse is great at getting my blood. I love the care I get with Dr. Burrell!!!

I saw Dr. Burrell for a few years. It's hard to tell how a doctor is when you are not ill. I went for a few annual physical checkups, where we discussed family medical history, personal medical history, lifestyle, etc. The doctor was very thorough in questioning. However I had quite a different experience once I fell ill. She still listened but incorrectly diagnosed my condition. After a few days of following her advice without gaining any relief, I scheduled a re-check. She told me to wait at least 30 days before visiting again, even if I did not see relief. Smelled like fish to me. The diagnosis seemed off so I met with a different doctor. The different doctor gave a different diagnosis and took quick action to correct it, and wanted to follow up fast. I now have a permanent issue resulting from this illness and I often wonder if all or some of the permanent effects would still be there had it been diagnosed properly or handled faster. At the same time as my… illness, a friend had come down with a terrible illness as well. My friend also felt that the diagnosis their doctor gave was not correct, was downplayed, and thought the doctor had a bad bedside manner. My friend also saw another doctor for a second opinion, who did not agree with the prior diagnosis of my friend's illness. My friend and I recently discovered that we both had this same doctor (Burrell) giving us each bad diagnoses at the same time - we just hadn't bothered to name drop until later! I would not recommend this doctor.

She is very caring and very nice.

After waiting several weeks for an appointment, I was called the day before my appointment and had my appt cancelled and rescheduled for an even further out date. Once I did see her, for pressing medical concerns, she was disconnected, did not make eye contact with me, and curt in her approach. Bloodwork confirmed a condition requiring specialist treatment. Her approach and lack of concern set me back on necessary treatment. Please consider other doctors!

Very poor bedside manners. No empathy for patient

This doctor does not know what she is doing at all - she gets confused easily, has very little knowledge and walks out on clients never to return. Very rude and a waste of time.
