Dr. Barbara Coven, MD

Dr Coven is great. She’s been The pediatrician for both of my daughters who are 5 years apart. She is thorough and takes her time with us. We love that she does not over prescribe medication unless it is necessary. She genuinely loves her profession and cares for her patients. I highly recommend!

My daughter’s normal doctor was fully booked so she was given a same day appointments with Dr Coven. Dr Coven made her feel like she was making her illness up and wasting the doctor’s time. She presented with flu symptoms and was offered a flu shot and a pregnancy test. The next day she attended urgent care and was given Tamiflu. She has had a temp of around 103 for the last three days. Not impressed.

Dr Coven has been very helpful in handling our first child. Our daughter is happy to see Dr. Coven and she has helped us understand what to expect as she grows up. One of the most helpful things is that she has a lot of experience and has seen a lot of the shifts in theories of child raising. She is very practicle and does not say there is one way to raise a child. This really alleviated my wifes concerns that we werent doing the right thing because dr google or some book said otherwise.

I have been taking my children to see Dr. Coven for 6 years, and have had great experiences. She is attentive to my questions and makes the kids feel comfortable as well. I find she always spends more time with me answering my questions.

In the past 8 months with her(since my daughter was born), I have had to wait 30 min to one hour to see her every time, only to have her rush out the door after 5 minutes. It always feels like she is not present, and I can barely ask any questions before she leaves us. She is a nice person but honestly I feel like a number in a time slot than a patient that she actually cares for.
