Dr. Barbara Ann Edelstein, MD

Dr Edelstein was highly recommended to me. I was shocked to find her both medically negligent and rude. AVOID her if you want skilled and compassionate medical care. I have NEVER written a negative review of a doctor before. With family who are physicians, I am aware that they have long hours, stressful jobs, and like all of us, aren’t always perfect. However, neither Edelstein did not warn me not to take certain medicines before the procedure. She was arrogant, rushed and rude when I called after my consult with questions. She did not call me with the results of my biopsy, as she said she would. I was left to figure out next steps for myself. One expects better from any physician, but especially one who takes no insurance, and whose fees are very high. Perhaps her illness earlier this year has affected her ability to practice competently. If so, she should stop.

The most compassionate, caring and professional doctor. Diagnosed my breast cancer early and was part of the team all the way . I would never go to anyone but Dr. Edelstein.

I am a 76 year old two time cancer survivor.....a male....whose internist found a very suspicious growth in my right breast two days ago.....male breast cancer is not uncommon....my internist is a renowned doctor at New York Hospital....his words to his assistant as he was finishing examining me were “let’s get Barbara Edelstein on the phone”.....and I was in her office the very next day.....everyone from Dr Edelstein’s receptionist to her technicians blew me away with their kindness and politeness and professionalism.....Dr Edelstein’s time with me in her office was a superb experience for me....her examination of my breast area was so thorough....and her reading of my mammogram combined with her personally doing an extensive sonogram on me and explaining it clearly provided all of the confidence I needed to know that if I have breast cancer, I am in the right place with the most competent doctor to figure out what to do next.....Dr Edelstein was caring and kind and was mentally… comforting as my mind was thinking “another cancer for me” while I was in her office.....And to my great surprise, Dr Edelstein had already set up an appointment for me to be biopsied the following morning by the time I sat down in her office after the exam.....we wait for the biopsy results and hope they are in my favor....and if not Dr Edelstein will guide me through what has to be done.

I have been a patient for 18 years. I leave overseas and will always return to Dr. Edelstein for the most intensive, thorough and trustworthy analysis of my breasts. Thank you, dear Dr. Edelstein!!!

Dr. Edelstein saw something suspicious on a recent mamogram and ordered several more and then did a sonogram. She found a tiny tiny tumor and sent me for a biopsy which was positive. I am grateful that she spent the time to find this tumor which would have been missed by many other radiologists. She was caring after the diagnosis, and has called me several times before and after my surgery. She is extremely professional and worth the wait.

I have been going to I am driving i will answer when i have arrived Edelstein for years and the few times I have had to see someone else really makes me realize what a wonderful patient / doctor relationship she has with her patients... She takes time she is absolutely thorough and she is comforting and absolutely brilliant I what she does. I would say she is the best in the business, bar none.

This doctor is just amazing. She remembers her patients, considering how active her practice is, that is impressive.

I have been seeing Dr. Edelstein for over 20 years. I first saw her for a breast problem. I have been getting my annual mammograms there ever since. She is outstanding. Her technicians are insensitive and nasty. I only go back because Dr. Edelstein is so good.
