Dr. Barbara Dawn Loris, MD

Dr. Loris has operated on me twice. I think she is a very caring physician. She listens to you, always has a smile and in my opinion is quite competent. The Northshore Health system is very lucky to have her.

Dr. Loris performed laparoscopic Gallbladder surgery on me, and she did an amazing job. There were zero complications, or problems and my recovery was very smooth. The surgery also corrected all of the symptoms I was having before surgery. She is very professional, and has a very warm and kind personality. I would highly recommend Dr. loris.

Dr. Loris should not be allowed to see patients that are not hers. She came to see me in the hospital. She is NOT my DR. nor will she ever be my DR. because, her bedside manner is completely inappropriate. She has an attitude that is condescending and that makes her appear ignorant. She is cold and mean and not informed on the patients she is meeting with. She is giving Highland Park Hospital a very bad reputation. I asked the nurses today about Dr. Loris - they all (100%) complained that she is a horrible person - hard to work with and mean to the patients. I have reported her to the hospital administration. She needs to be let go. She is clearly an unhappy person and is taking it out on patients. My advice for patients is to stay clear of her. My advice to Highland Park Hospital is to cut your ties with her - she is a liability to your organization!!!!

This doctor's staff (at 225 N Milwaukee Ave in Vernon Hills) is a hot mess. I drove 30mins to my appointment, arrived 15mins before my scheduled appointment time and spent over 35 minutes waiting in the exam room before leaving before being seen. They don't care AT ALL about you, your life or the fact that it's hard to see a doctor when you have small children. Bless my toddler for being more patient than I am. Steer clear, find a different doctor and a different office for NorthShore. I've never had these issues at the other 2 offices I have been to. Office staff was rude and sarcastic when I said it's ridiculous to wait this long. Please look elsewhere!

I have a very complicated medical history and have Dr/Surgeon jumped for over 20 years because I cannot find the "whole package". I found and am staying with Dr Loris and her practice because of the time that the doctor and her staff spend with you to ensure that you have been taken care of and that all my questions are answered. Dr Loris is the most down to earth doctor/surgeon I have met, it is quite refreshing.

Awful experience. She was very cold and rude. When I tried explaining my pain, she cut me off each time. She wouldn't listen to any of my concerns. She discredited my primary doctor and abruptly left the room after saying she can't do anything for me and that she'll just have to send her an email. I do not recommend her.

Dr Loris is very nice- intelligent doctor yet a warm, caring person. She puts you at ease and she is explains medical information very well.

My wife was brought into the hospital by ambulance by 5 a.m. The emergency diagnosed her with a bad gall bladder. The surgeon met with her between 10 and 11 a.m., and by 1 p.m. they were wheeling her down for surgery. At probably 7-8 p.m., after her next surgery, she stopped by my wife's room to check up on her. VERY nice, professional, and great bedside manner. Other doctor's and those wishing to be can learn a lot from her!

I had a wonderful experience at Dr Loris office. Short waiting time, excellent nurses and great care. Would definately recommend her practice.
