Dr. Barbara M Mccandlish, PhD

I came to talk to mccandlish in 2011. I was extremely distraught and on the verge of a breakdown. I thought I was angry but it turned out to be a multitude of things. over the years I've learned so much about myself: what makes me tick, how to set boundaries, how "it" all started, and how it can perpetuate itself. She is giving me the tools I need to continue the work of healing...it can be a lifelong process depending in where you start. The rest is up to me. I'm grateful on many levels to have her as a provider.

I was in weekly therapy with Dr McCandlish. Despite the fact that her treatment was ineffective in relieving my symptoms, she continued to treat me for two years. My partner at the time was disappointed in my progress but I trusted Dr McCandlish. This was a mistake. In our final sessions, I was told that I should expect to be in therapy for many years, and that my symptoms could only be due to extreme childhood trauma that I had no memory of. I recommend to those wishing to heal and grow that they find someone else.
