Dr. Barbara J Opalka, DO

I have been a patient of Dr. Barb and Becky for several years. They are both phenomenal professionals. They actual listen to what you tell them and you feel that they are giving you the same level of attention that they would give their own family member. Their diagnosis have always been spot on and they go the extra mile to insure that your issues are being properly addressed. When these two ladies left their former practice, I changed my insurance policy and choose to add 20 minutes to my commute just to stay with these wonderful Doctors.

Thorough. Compassionate. She has been my primary physician for at least ten years. The staff is professional in their overall demeanor. I haven't had a long wait time but I book earliest appointments whenever possible. I wish I didn't have to wait so long to get in to see her when I am booking my appointment. On the flip side, I want to see her and not several other physicians on staff. (She hasn't brought other physicians on staff as yet). If an emergency arises, I can speak with her or her nurse practitioner to work out what to do next. They have excellent communication which I find helpful.

Dr. Opalka was wonderful. She spent a longtime with my husband and I learning my medical history. I felt immediately comfortable with her. However, her front desk staff was very rude and I felt like I was a bother to her.

Dr. Opalka is nice. If you want a "nice" doctor, then she is fine. I don't see her as all too knowledgeable at anything. She quickly refers you out for any problem you have.The office staff is absolutely horrible. If you like being treated like poorly by rude office help, then this place is perfect. If this place was run more like an office and less like the relatives that you can't stand (they try to make it homey and that just reminds me of the sister who drives me nuts).

Whenever I call for an Appt. the receptionist is always pleasent and willing to work with my schedule. She make everything as easy as possible. Thanks so much for all you do.

I absolutely love Dr Opalka. I have had numerous health issues this year and she has been right by my side throughout it all. It is difficult to find a genuinely caring MD these days.

OMG! First, the office staff has the attitude that they were doing me a favor. Way too much attitude to a place where I take my clothes off. Second, it was like pulling teeth to get to speak to someone when I called. A million different buttons to push just to leave a msg, then pray someone would call me back. They said they called me, but my phone records say otherwise. The final blow was when I called for a perscription refill (which I always had to do every 3 months b/c I was never given even 1 refill on any of 6 meds) and was told not before an appt (I understand this). But they said they told me this 3 months ago, NOT! There was no offer of only 14-30 day extention until I could get there, but the biggest slap in the face was when my handicap plaquard would not be signed untill I came in for that appt. Dr. Opalka, you will not hold me hostage. You know your office is very bad at communication, I have spoken to Becky abt this before. My time is just as important as yours… and I have moved on to a doctor that does not think they are doing me a favor, cares abt me and who's office staff are much better than yours. Besides, they call me, I don't have to follow up w/ them, waiting and waiting for someone to call me back and then having to call again and again. It wasn't just this incident, b/c it happens every time. I hated calling your office b/c I knew what a hassle it would be. You really need to review your office!But I do wonder, was it that I'm uninsured and paid cash; you couldn't bill for just anything. I mean really, $195 for an office visit, I'll bet that seems out of line to even you.

I hardly ever see Dr. Opalka, I usually see the nurse practitioner, Becky Materitando. She is awesome!! the office setting is comfortable. The staff is very friendly, they treat me like they have been caring for me for years! Always quick to call back and never have to wait long for results. Would recommend and have to anyone!!

I have had years of medical problems and have seen many doctors. Dr. Opalka has been the best by far. She has been the only doctor that I will spend 45-60 minutes of travel time to go see. She has also done wonders for other family members when their doctors couldn't help them. I have never been rushed at any visits and going to her office is like walking into someones home. I highly suggest her for anyone to see and have refered her out on a number of occasions. After seeing a ton of doctors in my life time, she has been the best.
