Summary
Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:I was 16 years old, and I was asked what I wanted to do. I said "" be a nurse."" I do not know why. I had never volunteered at a hospital nor had I had a relative with a severe illness. It was just something I felt called to do. However when I started my first nursing job at 19 in a nursing home, I fell in love with nursing. I love helping people, trying to make their lives better, encouraging them and helping them see their full potential. I truly believe that I am doing what I was born to doWhat I want my patients to know about me:I love my job and am always excited to learn new things that help me be a better practitioner. I believe that my patients and I have a partnership. We need to work together to improve health.What I do when I'm not seeing patients:I play at being a mom, read (murder mysteries are my favorite), bake, and take care of children in my church nursery. And I love taking a nap whenever I can.
