Dr. Barry Leslie Bakst, DO

I totally agree with the previous patient about him make me feel very anxious and uptight. Several times through our interactions he told me to lose weight just yesterday on the way out and he said oh and lose some weight. I honestly don’t think weight has a lot to do with my pain given the fact that three years ago I lost 50 pounds and the pain was still the same. I felt very uncomfortable when he asked me if I If I suffer from depression I told him no I’m fine , he looked at me and said no you’re depressed and you need to see a therapist ! would you like to see one of our therapist ? wow i have Dr. talk to me like that before and it made me feel very uncomfortable . I feel he’s all over the place when talking to you and very rushed he wants quick responses from you which is not me. I feel if he could work on his bedside manner a bit he could be a better doctor. When he told me I need to go home and meditate and learn how to relax I thought that’s actually quite funny because I do… relax at home he’s the one making me feel uptight In his presence. When I told my husband last night what h about Losing weight my husband became very upset. He knows how much I’ve been struggling to try to lose weight and the fact that I had an eating disorder years ago it’s not something A woman said to her. I’m a 55-year-old woman all my life I’ve been up and down with my weight 120 up to 160 I’m sorry if he feels I need to lose weight but I’m actually quite happy with myself so I wish you would get off my back about it.

Dr. Bakst's knowledge and experience are impressive, even impeccable. Were I to write a review based on those qualities alone, I would give a five-star rating. Unfortunately, I did not have a comfortable interaction with Dr. Bakst; his manner is intense and rushed. That being said, I have every confidence in his skills; his "bedside manner" made feel tense and anxious. I felt that he did not want to give me time to ask questions, and that he was impatient with me for being nervous. If given a choice, I would have chosen another practitioner to diagnose and treat my injuries.

Great Doctor. Great towards his patients. Amazing staff. Always takes excellent care of his patients.
