Dr. Barry Lionel Getzoff, DO

Old, outdated treatment approach for RA. Judgement off, may be able to get to work, shouldn’t be seeing patients, making diagnoses or treatment.

I would still be a patient of Dr. Getzoff if it weren’t for the way I was treated by his office staff, specifically by Joyce. I have rheumatoid arthritis and was recently admitted to the hospital with a CRP of 243 so my RA is severe and pain is significant; however, whenever it came to having to interacting with his office I was treated as though I was an inconvenience. To be specific, I recall Joyce saying (while I attempted to schedule knee injections as per Dr. Getzoff’s recommendation) were “You know this is an inconvenience because he has other patients to see”. Needless to say, I never was able to get the knee injections. There was another interaction with a girl at the front desk who misplaced my medical records but instead of just saying that I was told by Joyce that I picked my records up- she was certain of it. That was fun.... ended up hospitalized the next day.

I have been going to Dr. Getzoff for several years. He is the best.

Love him...been going to him since I was 13 years old. I am now 49. There is no other doctor in this world that is like him. Very caring and will help you in anyway possible. He got my life back. He is truly one amazing doctor!

Having a chronic rheumatic condition for over 20+ years I have been to many rheumatologists. In 2008, one of his current patients referred me to Dr. Getzoff and I have been with him ever since. Dr. Getzoff is by far the best rheumatologist, from both a professional & personal level, that I have ever been to. It's easy to see that he loves what he does, and that he truly cares about his patients. Doctor like this are so very hard to find nowadays. I consider myself very fortunate to be his patient.

Trying to set-up my first appointment for a problem I have been suffering with for 8 months, the girl I dealt with was very rude. I have a self administered plan which is a little confusing. After looking at my card she told me they didn't take it even though they are part of the network. She couldn't explain why, just seemed to not want to be bothered. I really wanted to go to this doctor, my husband had a good experience with him. So my healthcare administrator called them with me. She was still being very rude and ended up leaving us on hold 25 minutes. By then I no longer wanted to see this doctor!
