Dr. Barry Scot Horowitz, MD

Terrible, non existent followup post labs from the staff. Worst experience ever. Had to leave multiple messages on portal and by phone, and finally went back to my doctor in NY with a televisit.

This doctor is not responsive to patients prescription needs. This doctor has an nurse who who accompanies him to his three office locations. This does not leave much time for the nurse to attend to prescription renewals. He makes in my case prescription changes without notifying me. I needed a Prior Authorization for an insulin refill, it took office visits and faxes over a two week time frame before he replied to my request. If anyone I know asked me that they needed his services I would tell them to get another doctor. He is not the doctor to use his whole purpose in life is money.

I am a diabetic person and I was looking for an endocronalogist in Boynton Beach or near. We found Dr. Horowich and got an appointment. When I went to see the doctor, he came into the room where he was seeing me and did not ask me anything. I had all the information about my sickness and what I am doing for it printed out. He shouted at me at the whole time I was there, saying, "You are weird" again and again. He said, "Why did you come here? Go away and get an other doctor.” I was shocked and sat until he finished. I told him that I would like my husband to see him. My husband came and he shouted at him also, using the word “weird” about me over and over. How could any patient put up with this sort of behavior? I just want other patients to know that they should not go to him. I cannot express the fear I still have after seeing him. Very sad... Hope no one goes to him.

Had blood work done on Dec. 7. I have called 8 times to get the results because no one has called me. NO ONE has returned any of my messages. Today (Dec. 26) they are asking me if it was easier for me to come into the office or go to the lab to have my blood work drawn again. They lost my blood!!

Have been complaining about pain in front of my neck and gland pain for a while. Also have a visible lump. After an MRI revealed a nodule, which I expected would be benign, I went to see him. He did not take the time to listen to my symptoms, have a strong family history of thyroid issues, and told me to have a biopsy. The test did come back benign and I still have the same symptoms. He told me the test was fine, to come back in 6 months, and my symptoms must be due to something else. Will not be returning in 60 years let alone 6 months

I did write this review on another site too, but I felt that it was important to share. I really have never written a poor review before, but I had several negative experiences with this doctor. He is extremely knowledgable about diabetes, but, at least in my experience, he continually did not listen to my concerns. I had shared with him that I was not comfortable with going back on an insulin pump, however he continually pushed it on me until I agreed. What made me upset was that he tried to get me to buy the most expensive Medtronic pump (without giving me information about any others), had me speak to two sale reps, and did not share any other alternatives that I could take. It felt as though he was being paid to recommend it. He always seemed rushed and would suggest seemingly unnecessary appointments, which also did not seem right. I feel bad writing all of this this, but I honestly would not recommend him to any of my friends or family.

Love this doctor. He was no nonsense, answered my many questions, had solutions and good follow up.

I went to see Horowitz as a new patient the other day for my thyroid condition. This dr did not even look at me, had his back facing towards me the whole time instead. Horowitz ran labs on me that had nothing to do with my thyroid. To me that tells me he is all about money that my insurance will pay him for unnecessary labs. I also heard him yelling at some large blonde lady about money and his number of patients. And I waited 45 minutes in the lobby until I was called back by a nurse. Time to find a new endo asap.
