Dr. Barry Kent Jarnagin, MD

I’ve suffered from painful sex for over 10 years. After having a baby, it was more excruciating than ever. I was referred to Dr Jarnagin and can’t say enough about how he has helped me. I live in Chattanooga and had to drive 2 hours for each appointment and it was well worth it. Dr Jarnagin laid out several options for me to try and we went through those options one by one, with him always assuring me that we wouldn’t give up, that we would try every option to get to the bottom of my pain. I’ve seen so many doctors who have just shrugged and said “We really don’t know much about this issue. It will probably get better with time. Checkout on the left as you exit.” It was such a breath of fresh air to talk to someone who was knowledgeable, capable, compassionate, and reasonable. I didn’t feel like I received false promises or hope, but definitely ongoing partnership in finding relief. For me the most successful therapies were stem cell injections and the MonaLisa Touch laser treatments.… I had hoped that I’d find some relief from pain, but I never expected to be as pain-free as I found myself after completing those therapies! I still struggle with some of the emotional baggage/trauma that 10+ years of painful sex brings, but now I just need to focus on some psychological therapy :) Thank you, Dr Jarnagin!

Dr Jarnagin removed a bartholyn's cyst in 2019 and performed a rectocle and cystocele repair in 2022. He takes pride in the work he does. I never felt rushed at any of my appointments and he does listen.

I had excellent care through diagnosis, surgery, and recovery. Very little pain, and really rapid recovery. He is my new hero.
