Dr. Barry Kussman, MBBCH

Barry D. Kussman, MB, BCH, is a senior associate in cardiac anesthesia in the Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital and an assistant professor of anaesthesia at Harvard Medical School. He specializes in pediatric cardiac anesthesiology and perioperative care for infants, children, and adolescents undergoing complex cardiac and surgical procedures. Dr. Kussman earned his medical degree in Ireland and completed advanced training in anesthesiology before joining Boston Children’s Hospital, where he has spent decades advancing pediatric anesthesia care. Board certified in anesthesiology, his work focuses on delivering safe, high-quality perioperative management for children with congenital and acquired heart disease through multidisciplinary, patient-centered care.
