Dr. Barry Levitt, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Levitt for15 years. I see him every few years. He is very thorough, and he cares about his patients. I have referred family and friends to him.

They don’t care about their parents health. The staff behavior and business model is appalling. The first red flag is they can’t even update the correct address on google. I came here seeking help, and I paid out of pocket for consultation and a pylori lab test. Dr. Levitt kept insisting I was swallowing air, he tried to convinced me to take a $1300 endoscopy, with no modeical insurance, I declined. I wanted to take a pylori test, and I asked him if there is precense of pylori, if he could offer me treatment. He said yes and will contact me directly. Usually, it takes a few hours to get the lab result, here it takes a week. I called once a day to get the test result, the staff transferred me over to someone who doesn’t pick up their phone. After the 8th call, I find out they transfer me to someone who no longer works there. Finally on the 10th day, I was able to reach someone named Frederick, who said they can’t find my lab result. Frederick said, he will call me back and never did.… Doctor Levitt never reached out to me or called,,.. I was in so much pain, I had intense heart burn, vomiting, blood in the stool, frequent burping, and pain in my stomach. I was able to reach out to Frederick on Monday at 9 am, he finally told me I have tested positive for pylori. Great, can I receive treatment? I had high hopes to get documentation of lab results and medication. I thought getting prescribe would only take 10 minutes.. only to find out, it took hours longer and maybe a couple of days, weeks, years to get anything done. I was slouched on the couch in sheer pain because my doctor would prolong prescribing my medication.. I called again 4 hours later, when Frederick answered the phone, after hearing my name, he would immediately hang up. I called again, only for him to say doctor is in procedure, and hang up immediately. Frederick had a different attitude toward his patients. They would not prescribe me medication and give me lab results for 13 days and 7 hours. I drove up to the office, knowing I would never get a call back from anybody. And I beg and pleaded with these people to give me my lab results and medication. Finally, they saw my desperation for medication and lab results, and gave me treatment. The pylori bacteria, will tear down your esophagus stomach lining, and upper intestine. It will give you frequent heart burn, burping. I experienced a lot of unimaginable pain, from vomiting, losing weight, deprived of eating and sleeping. It can also lead to stomach ulcers and cancer. These medical staff have no idea what I went through, and yet they seem to neglect me. They deprive me of getting my medication and lab result. Honestly felt like suing them, I would never recommend coming here.

Had a productive visit with Dr. Levitt. Stopped at his nurse's desk to pick up samples which I would try before they called in a prescription for me. We verified my pharmacy and I left. I called back after trying and asked that they call in a script at my pharmacy & gave the pharmacy name, number & location gain. I notice that I didn't get a call from my pharmacy some bizarre pharmacy kept calling me. I called the office again & left a message with the nurse to let her know I was getting calls from some unknown pharmacy and could she please call my script to my pharmacy (left their info again). The nurse called me back to tell me they decided to send my script to this other pharmacy & I should get it from there. EXCUSE ME! So I called the office manager who explained why they sent my script to another pharmacy (unnecessarily) but did not seem concerned that my repeated requests were ignored. Worse yet, she sis not understand that their actions were a violation of my privacy… rights as they shared my health info with a separate entity to which I did not give permission. They ignored my wishes & violated my HIPAA rights, no apology. BTW, when I called to ask for a 90 day refill so I could minimize my visits to the pharmacy during COVID. They called back from an anonymous number (Which was never how they called in the past) to inform me that because I chose not to go with their pharmacy I could not get a 90 day supply. Knowing he doctor writes the script & not the pharmacy I saw this as petty & punitive. This service was absolutely awful. This staff was unprofessional, rude, totally dismissive of my requests and willing to punish me in the middle of a pandemic. Very dangerous people.

Dr Levitt is very professional. He takes the time to explain the procedure before and after.

Wonderful attention to detail. Listens. His suggested treatments work.

Over the last 10 years I've had 4 visits with him. I've found him to be a doctor and person of great integrity. An ingredient missing in our society, in business especially. I cherish my visits, so refreshing and uplifting. Thank you!

Dt Levitt is do caring. He takes time with you. I would never see another doc fot my GI issues. A perk is that he doesn't make you feel badly.

I had an overall great experience with Dr. Levitt and his staff. The waiting area was clean and comfortable, and not overly crowded. I have had a total of 3 appointments with the office at different times, and the front desk receptionist always greeted me with a wonderful smile. The rest of the staff is great, you can tell that they enjoy their job.

I saw Dr. Levitt for a colonoscopy last year and am going back for upper GI. His office was professionally run, I was comfortable in both the procedure (as much as you can be) and in his explanation of the results. I would not hesitate to recommend him or the practice
