Dr. Barry Mark Magid, MD

I am very satisfied with my experience with Dr. Barry Magid. I was a psychotherapy and, eventually, a psychoanalytic patient of his. I appreciate the fact that he never pushed pills yet it was good to know that he certainly could have prescribed it for me had I needed it. After any years in treatment with him I found that he is very bright and capable as well as caring. I have recommended several colleagues and friends to him with very good results. I recommend him highly. One additional point, it turns out that Dr. Magid is a Zen Roshi or teacher, this was never manifest in his practice. I found out about it by happenstance . I then bought his books after I had terminated treatment. Barry Magid is a very intellectually impressive guy. He is a very good and interesting man. I'm actually a Christian so I'm not so versed in Eastern ways. It's very obvious that he had great respect for my beliefs and never pushed medication or Zen.

He was way too passive for me. Input was rare. I felt like I was an object of his meditation rather than a client.
