Dr. Barry Charles Malloy, MD

Saw this doctor for diabetic exam and he lectured me about my diet and health. He barely examined me and seemed to rush out the door. I think he sees too many patients and doesn't seem to care. Not worth the wait coming here and I don't trust someone so rushed.

This was my first visit with Dr. Malloy and it will also be my last! First off, I waited for just under 2 hours to see the doctor. Then the tech, who was very nice, told me I would be having an OCT of my retina done due to my significant increase in floaters, a family history of retinal issues, and my autoimmune disease. Well, that was never done because, according to the staff, I'm too young to have retinal issues and my vision was 20/20 with my glasses...umm, seriously?! My Dad was a teenager when he had his first retinal issues that required surgery and 21 the second time, I'm in my late 30's! In addition, Dr. Malloy never asked at what age this happened to my Dad and to my Grandmother even though I tried to tell him, he was too busy lecturing me on my autoimmune disease and how I need to start going to the gym so that my vertebrae doesn't fuse and I end up in a permanent hunched over position in my 40's. Ummm, I already have fused vertebrae and fused SI joints but that was related… to 10yrs of misdiagnosis. I lived a very active lifestyle, BUT I have a Rheumatologist to discuss that with! I was there to make sure nothing was wrong with my eyes since this autoimmune disease can cause some major issues with your eyes, NOT to receive a lecture on what exercise routine I needed to do. When Dr. Malloy finally came into the room he told my fiancé to move to the other seat so that my fiancé could look at his face when he was talking to him. He did the quickest exam EVER, told me I have early cataracts, and then said "you're fine, I don't need to see you for a year". He spent NO time WHATSOEVER explaining ANYTHING other than his opinion on what my exercise routine should be. Then he asks if I have any questions, about what?!?! You didn't really do a thorough exam so I don't know anything more now than I did prior to this appointment in regards to my vision and eye health. I'm VERY, VERY, VERY unhappy with Dr. Malloy!

I have been seeing Dr. Malloy for several years now. He is an excellent doctor. He takes time to explain your visit and is a very caring doctor. I would recommend him very highly.

Dr.Malloy made me feel important and always answered my questions. He is very funny and made a scary experience less stressful.

After my retina doctor left the area I went to Dr.Malloy. He has been very thorough following up on a detached retina I had a few years ago. He is very professional and takes time to answer questions I have.
