Dr. Barry Lyon Marmorstein, MD

I have been Dr. M's patient for many years. There is a good reason for this-he is simply the best. One of the most important values is his listening skills. He knows I know my body & respects that. If I want to try something different he usually lets me if he thinks I would benefit. I do alot of research about any new medications that might help me. He asks me why I want to try it, & if he feels it would benefit me, he lets me try it. If not he explains to me why not. He expains everything to me like tests he wants, exams he wants done, possible side effects of any medications etc. He is not afraid to refer me to a specialist if he knows it's out of his expertise, which I greatly admire. He is by far the fastest doctor getting me in on time I have ever had. He respects his patients time, knowing our time is also valuble. He is my cronic pain Dr. & is not afraid to try new things that come along, or again something new I might want to try. He knows me well enough that I wll not abuse… any pain management or meds that I need to continue on with my life the best that I can. He wants me to continue to try new options to help improve my quality of life. I really don't know what I will do when he retires. I don't even want to think about that. He has so much schooling & training yet continues to keep up on new information that might help any of his patients. I have recomennded him to many family members as well as friends. I would never do that unless I had the trust that I do with Dr. Marmorstein. I have been to many doctors over the years since my car accident in 1988, of which I still suffer. However, he came up with a plan that no others had which made my life worth living, and improved my quality of life ten fold.

I doubt I'll ever find another DR.that would be able to match Dr. Marmorstein's expertise on being able to diagnose a patients illness in one office visit,Even before lab tests or XRays were done,and be correct 98 percent of the time.

We have been patients since about 1975 and in all those years have only the highest esteem for him and his care of us. His approach is to respect our own identification of our issue as we know more than anyone what is going on. Then he goes from there. "So what do you think is going on?" he asks. Then he stays with it. So our decision now is to whether to follow him to CleElam.

I have been seeing Dr M for almost 20 yrs as my GP and he has been superb.Many of the Overlake nurses families use him for their GP as well.ALways takes the time to ask questions and really listens before any exam.Been very consistent and very straight forward through all these years. Who cares about the receptionist..Its the Doc that matters.

Very professional and very experienced. Good, caring manner with patients, and will take the time needed with each. The staff turnover seems high.

I cannot think of another doctor I would put my trust in. And quite frankly, whenever the doctor decides to announce his retirement, I will miss his professionalism most of all. Of all people I see on a professional and non-professional basis, I would vote Dr. Marmorstein as the single most knowledgeable person who has my well-being in mind. I consider myself quite lucky to have had the opportunity to have been in his care.
