Dr. Barry P Shapiro, DO

He's awesome but expect to wait a while. Hr spends the necessary amount of time per child so he usually runs behind. Best child psychiatrist I have found. He can get through to the child and is relatable. My son likes him a lot.

I have seen 6-10 psychiatrists since beginning depression for the first time in 2000. None of them made the correct diagnosis, except for Dr. Shapiro. He has treated me for over 11 years and I find him to be caring and willing to listen to everything I had to say. When I need longer appointments, he schedules them. When I need to talk with him on the phone, he calls back within an acceptable time period. He is always looking for new or better ways to treat my disorder, going as far as to pull out the computer during sessions to look up any new research. I am not always the easiest patient to deal with, as my moods change abruptly, but he always has been patient with my problems and listens well. I very highly recommend him.
