Dr. Barry Edward Staley, MD

Dr. Staley is a very compassionate Doctor. He takes time to explain everything . I’ve going to him for 25 years. I’ll will really miss him when he retires . It’s going to be hard to find anyone like him .

Been a customer of Dr. Staley for 7 years. Always found him to be friendly, someone that is genuinely interested in my well being, yet is a no-nonsense type of doctor. Best doctor that I’ve found in the Cincinnati area.

Dr Staley always takes plenty of time with me. Never rushing the appt and answering all my questions. He will call me at home if there are any urgent problems. He treats me with complete respect yet makes me feel important and part of the “family” I highly recommend and trust him completely!

No compassion for a patient - He likes paperwork's rather than treating patient. I was late for the last appointment. I called the office and they said me to reschedule. More they charged $50 for no show. I am changing to Mercy Health.

I have gone to Dr. Staley for several years and have ALWAYS found him to be great. He is deliberate in his explanations ... and takes what ever time I need to understand. The office is very busy ... but I never feel like they are rushing through the process.

Dr. Staley is a fine Doctor when you visit him for annual checkups and minor ENT infections. However he is reluctant to treat anything beyond that. He will hand you a referral and a follow up appoinment quite frequently. I have found him frequently dodging questions and he gets angry if you press him for answers. Dr. Staley referred me to a plastic surgeon for a basic sebaceous cyst. Not recommended at all..

He actually takes the time to listen to you, he has your file but he listens to what you are saying as well. Sometimes you are telling him what is the matter and not using medical lingo and he gets it. Asks a leading questions, and fully understands what you were trying to say!

Dr. Staley practices medicine like family physicians use to years ago. He has taken the time to get to know me as a person and not just a patient. He takes time to connect with you on your level and has done an excellent job explaining to me complex medical issues in a way that even I was able to understand them. His biggest fault would be that he sometimes falls a bit behind schedule (I'm sure related to the time he spends talking to not just diagnosing each patient) but it is worth the wait to have a physician you know cares about YOU.

Wetherington Family Medicine's office staff is generally courteous and helpful... it's a large office with clearly a lot going on, but the nurses, techs, and administrative personnel seem to keep up fairly well. My complaint about this office up until recently is that Dr. Staley seems to run consistently late (>30min wait time on all three occasions that I was there), and his bedside manner leaves something to be desired. He isn't rude, but is not very friendly, either. NONE of my office visits were followed up on by his staff to provide test results, which I find to be absolutely reproachful.My gripe with Dr. Staley and his practice is that once they stopped accepting Humana, which is their right, they wanted to charge me to have my records sent to my new physician, to the tune of nearly $40. I called Dr. Staley and spoke with his administrative assistant, and she told me that he shrugged my complaint off. So not only did they kick me out of the practice, but charged me on my way out… the door. I got no return call, no explanation, no customer service at all from the good doctor.I don't believe Dr. Staley is a bad doctor, but if you choose to become one of his patients, prepare to be treated similarly.
