I can’t put into words what a waste of time my ER visit was.

Dr. Tils treated me in the ER for an ear cartilage infection. He took the time to explain why I should be on antibiotics- I was very hesitant. It was a “great experience” in the Emergency Room- which I realize is an oxymoron!!

I could barely walk with stiffness and pain on entering the emergency room on a Sunday.After blood work and X-rays of my foot, Dr. Barry Tils came in to diagnose and tell me what to do. He was down to earth, no fooling around, told me what the problem was, suggested medicine that should help it in a limited time, and if it did not improve to come back. The medicine started working with effect after the first dose. For me, it was a miracle, and I can go to work, something I feared not being able to do since my work entails much walking. I only wish Dr. Tils could be my general doctor as well. He had just the right manner to deal with someone like me.

I’m not sure why he is an ER doc when he can’t answer questions and seems like he clocked out as soon as we got there. Nurses apologized for him and they were great. They got it. I won’t be back at Newton Wellesley ER again.

Waited in the ER room for several hours with very little attention until I was told I could go home. No diagnosis, no discussion with the doctor. This is the second bad experience I had here in the past year.

D. Tils supervised a team at the Newton Wellesley ER diagnosing and treating a nasty bout of gastroenteritis. I didn't know what I had when I got there, just that I was vomiting and defecating all day long and I feared dehydration and bad electrolyte balance, especially being a Diabetic. They were extremely thorough and several professionals assisted in the examination which ultimately lead to me being sent home with a set of instructions, including dietary restriction to adhere to so natural healing could occur. I will go back to this ER again, if necessary, with confidence in the professionalism of the staff.

Would not recommend.
