Dr. Barry Christopher Weed, MD

Dr. Barry Weed is a convicted felon and had to surrender his license to practice in the past for lying about his alcoholism. A horrific excuse for a human being and I wouldn't bring a dog to him for treatment. PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!!

Took forever to find him and the office would not pick up the phone. He refused to see me despite giving me three wrong addresses.

5 years ago I was a patient at Freedom House Recovery in Chapel Hill, and Barry Weed was my assigned doctor. During my stay he made false claims about me, saying I had wandered outside the facility and urinated on the walls (heclaimed there was video footage of such, which he never provided). He also threatened to have me committed if I didn't "do as he said." He is a horrible wretch of a human being and I hope FH has gotten rid of him. Thank god I'm sober so I'll never have to find out.

My wife has been going to this QWACK for almost three years. He is nothing more than a legalized drug pusher. If he would actually listen to his patients instead of having a "I went to college so i'm smarter than" you attitude he might be a good doctor but that is NOT the case. My wife has become increasingly unstable because of the cocktail of drugs he has her on and his only response has been to increase the dose. Apparently the only way to get off of drugs is more drugs.

The fine 'doctor' took off 15 before my appt. He did not check to see if another could take me in his absence. I have learned this is "normal" behavior on the part of Dr. Weed. He may be sober in the clinical sense, however, his behavior is that of an addict. Dr. Weed does not take his role seriously, or his cliental. Perhaps the board should re-check his hobbies outside of his limited duties.
