Dr. Barry Michael Yaffe, MD

It's been a number of years since I was a patient of Dr. Yaffe -- but I can say unequivocally that he was one of the best doctors I ever had. In fact, I stayed with Kaiser even when it didn't make financial sense to do so, just to be under his care. Intelligent, proactive, compassionate, pragmatic ... Dr. Y has every trait I would look for in an oncologist.

To the mother of Erica: I am sorry that I hurt you so, that you grieve even four years after I left clinical practice. I hope it is not true that I deprived your daughter of hope, that is a terrible wrong. When we lose hope, we lose a great deal, it is the foundation that supports everything else in our lives that is dear. I cannot recall all that I meant to convey if I truely made that statement, and it is not what I believe. God does everything. He gives us cancer, when He so chooses, and He heals us--from everything-- when He so chooses. More than that I cannot say, since my purpose here is not to make excuses for myself, it is simply to say that I am sorry. Dr Barry M Yaffe

Dr. Yaffe treated me for Stage II esophageal cancer and guided the medical that handled radiation and the transthoracic esophagectomy. That was 19 years ago and I credit Dr. Yaffe for my long term survival.

I will never forget how he robbed my daughter of hope standing right in front of her stating that God does not heal cancer. Words.. Words.. they have so much power.. you can speak life or death and what he did was speak death over my daughter Erica. I have forgiven him but my heart still hurts over his lack of compassion

Dr. Yaffe is one of the favorite doctors I have ever visited and, unfortunately, I've visited a lot of doctors. The perfect mixture of proffessional and kind.

Dr. Barry Yaffe is the "Best" doctor that I have ever had!!!! He is excellent in his medical knowledge and the individualized care that he provide for me for several years. I am a breast cancer survivor thanks to Dr. Yafee. I had an aggressive type of cancer and he was very up front and honest about the treatment I needed. He spends LOTS of time with you. He will answer all of your questions and take excellent care of you when you need him. He is so nice and genuine and will not lie to you. he is sooooo smart So knowledgeable about this terrible disease and thanks to him I am alive to thanks him. love this doc!

Dr. Yaffe is a caring, concerned and highly educated oncologist. I've been seeing him since my cancer surgery, and feel confident in his judgment and treatment.
