Dr. Basel Skeif, MD

I am so thankful for Dr. Skeif. He has been attentive, thorough, honest and explains things where it is easy to understand. He discovered a heart problem I had that no other doctor did anything about for almost 10 years. Also, all the staff at Tucson Heart Group is friendly, professional and very helpful.

I went to this doctor for six months. After each test he said something looks concerning. After thousands of dollars of tests he wants an appointment to discuss the results. He says they all came back normal but I still needed to be treated for hypertension. (My original reason for seeing him) It felt like he was just making me take test after test to line his pocket with my money. I had appointments every month to check my blood pressure and every month it was high and getting higher. After 6 months of this fooling around with no results and spending more money than I could afford I fired him. He never incouraged me after I lost significant weight or modified my diet. Actually, he never commented on anything I was doing for my blood pressure at home. Don’t waste you time or money. Find a doctor that will listen to you and work with you

Dr. Skeif is our hero. My husband had leg pain he thought was from exercising. Other symptoms appeared. After blood work, a nuclear stress test, & EKG tests, Dr. Skeif ordered him to the vascular part of TMC the same day. There they discovered 6 veins in his leg were blocked, and both lungs had massive blood clots. Surgery was done the next morning (Saturday). The surgeon later came in to say how lucky my husband was because they don't usually find out until the autopsy. Dr. Skeif is THOROUGH, pleasant, and serious about his job. We feel lucky to have him as our physician.

What I loved about him is 3 things. 1. He listens 2. He decides in a highly logical deductive fashion, and 3. he follows-up. This is my kind of Dr!
