Dr. Basil L Pugh, MD

I had Dr. Pugh as my anesthesiologist recently and he talked to me very little prior to the procedure. I've had general anesthesia three times prior to this operation and every time my anesthesiologist had told me about the process before hand and told me prior to administration that they were about to give me medicine. With Dr. Pugh he only checked my vitals and gave me induction medicine without telling me before hand so one moment I was conscious with him beside me then I was waking from surgery. I felt it was very rude to not tell me beforehand. It also wasn't explained to me that I would be intubated for the procedure and I thought this was information vital to me. I had no voice and a sore throat for days and was very upset that he didn't explain the process to me before my procedure. He may be a fine doctor but I felt there was very little curtousy towards me as the patient.

Dr. Pugh would be my choice if I needed an Anesthesiologist. I worked with him off and for approximately 4 years and saw how much he cares about his patients and staff. Everything was in place and in order. His sense of humor had a calming effect on his patients. and his perioperative staff. All around he is a very trustworthy physician, a gentleman and a very knowledgeable physician. By the way 5 stars!
