Dr. Baubak Larson Azar, MD

Dr. Azar saved my overseas vacation! I am traditionally very distrusting of doctors and was VERY upset that I could not see my own primary care doctor for the pain in my ankle. I was trying to "self diagnose" but as the day was coming to leave I had to get help. I was assigned whoever was available. Dr. Azar was thorough, professional, knowledgeable, knew EXACTLY what was wrong AND gave me suggestions for care not just for the current situation, but for all the future traveling parts of the vacation. I'm already better and can put weight on my foot. My primary care doctor is older and may soon retire. I'm looking to Dr. Azar for the future (just in case!). Dr. Azar was comforting, funny, a great storyteller/communicator as well as professional and helpful! I was tense when I arrived. I was hopeful when I left.

I would not recommend Azar. For two months I was being treated for a hiatal hernia, never any improvement, never listening to the fact that I was having unexplained chest, neck, back and radiating arm pain. I told him more than once and it was documented on the patient portal. I finally could not take the episodes any longer and drove myself to the emergency room at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury MN. I underwent an EKG (novel idea considering the symptoms.....) And transferred to Saint Josephs Hospital in the TC's where I underwent a triple bypass. Not once while in this man's office was the heart possibility ever mentioned. Please, please don't ever make the same mistake I did in trusting this person. Sad that we, women in particular as it relates to the heart, have to be our own advocate and refuse to be brushed off.....Don't. Allow. This. To Happen. To. You.
