Dr. Baxter Drew Wellmon II, DO

I began going to Dr Wellmon back when I was 18 years old, (40’s now) and when I moved unfortunately I had to switch practices. I highly recommend him and his staff, they are amazing good caring people who always take the time to spend talking with you and make you feel like you’re a valued client and not just a number. I still ask for his opinion on my medical history because I know I can count on him to give me the truth and not steer me in the wrong direction.

The office is emersed in a culture of incompetence. They commit errors, deny accountability and scapegoat. I was recently repeatedly told to commit a med error regarding a prescription for my mother that would have put her health in serious jeopardy. I was told to crush an enteric coated time release pill for my mother that is meant to regulate her heart, even though I told them that the instructions on the bottle clearly and stated not to do so. When trying to get a simple prescription filled, correctly, for my mother I was given the run-around for a week and treated rudely by an office staff member, who not only started accusing me of things but bad mouthing my mother's other caregivers from her home healthcare agency as well, when none of us had done anything wrong, simply to evade the topic at hand, which was to simply straighten out an issue with one of her prescriptions.

While they have the best doctors who truly seem to care, their office staff (particularly a woman named Cris) are easily the rudest people in existence and are not fit for customer service positions that serve as the first point of contact. Their staff have no respect for anyone calling in and are often condescending and rude. If it weren’t for the fact that Dr. Wellmon, Sam and Nathan were as good as they are, this office wouldn’t be worth coming to.

I like Dr Wellmon but could no longer tolerate the treatment from and the attitudes of his physician assistants and office manager

So this dr prescribes an allergy test ... we get the test. A week and a half later we call the testing center concerned we didn’t get results. They were astonished my dr didn’t call about my daughter!! The testing center calls in a prescription for An Epi pen ... and we haven’t heard from our terrible dr!! Switching ASAP no more of this terrible office. this was the last of many straws!

The office staff made my wife cry. Not sure why they are so terribly rude. Always left with an "ehh" feeling about the dr and, more specifically, the staff. If your insurance accepts another place, I'd go there. BTW they will yell at you for not going to their office instead of urgent care despite the fact THEY DON'T ANSWER THEIR PHONE

I am very impressed with Dr. Wellmon. He is personable and shows empathy to your situation. He seems to really care. I am happy with my Dr.
