Dr. Bayard Won Chang, MD

I was a patient of Dr. Chang for about 8 years. I agree he is one of the best physicians in Sacramento. It’s just too bad he went to charging a annual retainer fee (he call it Concierge medicine) of $2,500.00 to $3,000.00, which is not cover by any insurance. Please note this is in addition to all other standard medical bills that you already receive, plus your Medical Insurance premium cost. In a letter Dr. Chang broke it down with what the extra money was to cover, which to me was no different than the care that I thought I was getting for the last eight years. The only thing different is, if a guest was visiting you and they got sick then he would service them, but most people have their own insurance policy. I feel the Concierge payment is so he can work less hours, have less patients, but still have the same amount of income coming in for him to live the same life style he is use to. I must admit Dr. Chang and his staff are wonderful people to care for me, but over charging… your patients with this added stress when they are fighting for good health, advice and their life, is just uncaring and self-gratification. Do I recommend him, only if you have money to throw away, if not then search around, there are other good doctors out there that are not trying to take all of your money.

We've been a patient of Dr. Chang for more than 15 years. I can personally attest to others that Dr. Bayard Chang is one of the best physicians in Sacramento. It's just too bad and our loss that Dr. Chang, went concierge. Concierge medicine is also known as retainer medicine, is a relationship between a patient and a primary care physician in which the patient pays an annual fee or retainer. In our case, my wife and I received a letter that it would cost more than $3,000.00 a year, on top of all our deductible. Being my wife and I are both on disability fixed income that our take-home pay doesn't even take us home anymore, to add $3,000.00, additional of $250.00 a month fee is just putting us at the edge of the cliff. Against our will, we have no other choice but search for another attending physician.

Best doctor I have ever used. Very thorough excellent staff. If you need a referral it will be to the best in that field. Great demeanor. Nevermore than5 minutes behind.

I've been seeing Dr. Chang for a number of years and I feel so blessed to have him as my doctor. I hope he never retires. I feel so confident in his diagnosis and he goes above and beyond to make sure he follows up to give you the best care. He will personally contact you to discuss results and give you advice.

Dr Chang is a fine doctor and an even better person. He will spend as much time as needed (by you). He explains well. If he requires a test he will call you promply with the results. He is thorough and appears to be up to date. I am a big fan and would recommend his services to all.

I've been seeing Dr Chang for about 15 years and (I'm 59) and can only say he is the best Doctor I have been to.. He seems to show a genuine caring and has never rushed me out and always gets me in for my little quirky symptons.. 5 Stars for Dr. Chang and Staff!
