Thank you for backing me up when Methodist realized they physically restrained a catatonic patient they thought was faking, then declared I was unstable and violent. 4 hours in aggressive physical restraints for having catatonia the involuntary commital was lovely for pretending I have a mental condition I actually have. My mental health has significantly spiraled down causing two hospitalizations and still dropping fast

I was hospitalized for several health issues and required a visit from Dr. Brewer for pretty serious issues I have recently encountered. It appears as if I was not important enough for her to visit me before I was released from hospital. I find it pretty sad that she holds a position that could have a significant result in ones mental problems and decides when she wants to deal with others problems.

A beautiful black wonan, very good at her job. A MUCH better listener than most psychiatrists, councelers, and psycologists. Unlike other psychiatrist's, she does NOT listen only until she can put some lable from a book on me, and then refuse to consider anything that does not support the conclusion she jumped to. Was first to diagnose my Bi-Polor disorder, also first to diagnose my Asperger's disorder. Open mind allows her to listen to what I tell her, to look past my depression, and see the problems that feed my depression. Every other psychiatrist (or whoever) I seen since grade school focused on finding what environmental thing(s) could be causing my depression, including my self-talk or think about things, dispite me trying to explain that I know not all my thoughts are rational, and that noone I'd seen had ever suggested anything I hadn't already fugured out on my own, usually by the age of (anywhere from) 12 (to 21), but sometimes even earlier than that. And that… 99.9% of all their suggestions I'd already tried, many times. (Though I told them I'd try again.) Nobody but her actually HEARD me saying that no matter what progress I make, I know, from my 45+ years, that eventually end up back in the same place I always end up. And that even before kindergarten, I recognised that there were times I needed to be away from all people, and that nothing good ever came from fighting that feeling. All it ever did was make my suffering WORSE and last LONGER when I finally succomed. Not the first to prescribe a medication that helped (one other prescribed Abilify, which helped for about a week before I got every single side effect [except death] mentioned in the ads and website, and a bunch never mentioned), but the first to find me ones that I wasn't deathly allergic to. The only (potentially) negitive aspect about her is she's more than a bit gabby. And me having asperger's means we can run over-time REAL EASY. But that's really minor. It's almost impossible to get an appointment w/her that wasn't schedualed months in advance, but that's Oaklawn's fault. Would have given the staff a better raiting, but they've gotten argumentitive recently. Also, the "follow up" is simply the next appointment.
