Dr. Beau Michael Hawkins, MD

Dr. Hawkins and his staff are great at providing patient services. This gives you the impression that he is as good as a practitioner/surgeon. Unfortunately for me, he is/was not. The care he displays creates a trust in his abilities that in my opinion (as a doctor in a different discipline) are sub-par. This gives the patient a false sense of confidence. He practices at OU Medical, a teaching hospital, which means that the potential for complications is greater than that at other area hospitals (because residents learn by practicing on real-live people). That said, I don't know how much of my procedure was done by Dr. Hawkins and how much was done by a resident, but I'm dealing with outcomes that have altered my whole disposition. Aside from that, when I told Dr. Hawkins about the resultant issues from the procedure, his reaction was laughter, and then a statement about how many of the same procedure he has done in the past. No true compassion. Sometimes health professionals are… better salesmen than they are surgeons. Be wise.

Dr Hawkins is the best, simply the best, did a bare metal stent on my hubby avoiding open heart, saved his life, and diagnosed my moms valve prob. and clot, was able to do stents on her when others couldnt ,,hes just a rockstar in my opinion. I love Dr Hawkins, Ou better hang onto him!
