Dr. Ben J Howard, DO

Dr Howard was very cautious with my father and his surgery. He explained the risks associated with his health and condition and listened carefully as my father asked questions.

Amazing doctor, very caring, highly intelligent, yet down to earth. He takes time to listen, he is humble and cares deeply about providing the proper care need. I have never met a doctor this knowledgeable about every aspect of medicine.

I had a minor procedure done to repair an eyelid that had been damaged years previous and began to bother me. I'm a grown man, but it was surgery on my eye, I was pretty nervous about it. I was in a room waiting with family and all I could think about was the fact that my eye lid was about to be cut into while I was awake. This man walked in and shook my hand and was completely calm, intelligent, very articulate. He explained what was going to happen and what my alertness level would be, which is standard and to be expected. I can't explain it to the degree that I experienced it - he completely calmed me and conveyed to me how capable he was just by his demeanor and the way he communicated with me. It was awesome and prepared me to have my eye cut open with little hesitation. Dr Howard had a huge impact on how well I handled the surgery and I wanted to thank him somehow, so thank you!!!

I had a knee replacement done a few months ago and Dr. Howard was my anesthesiologist. He was outstanding! He explained everything very very well with a terrific bedside manner. He checked on me after I woke up and then came in my room that evening and the next day which I thought was unheard of but he did it. I would go back to that hospital again just so I could have him as my anesthesiologist.

I had surgery at Salt Lake Regional and he was my anesthesiologist. He has cared for me multiple times and has cared for my children as well. Any reviews that claim he is "uncaring" are completely false. If you truly knew Dr. Howard, you would know that he is one of the more caring and capable doctors out there. One indicator is that he treats his supporting staff very well. That cannot be said of all doctors. Some may confuse the confidence he has in his decisions as "arrogance", but if you'd like a less decisive and less confident doctor go somewhere else. I will tell you that when the stuff is hitting the fan, this is the man that you want on the team to save your life. He knows medicine and he cares A LOT!

I would advise anyone to find out before surgery who their anesthesiolist was. I would have walked out of the hospital and change my surgery if I knew about this guy. He was arrogant and uncaring..Did not seem to care about anything but getting out as soon as he could
