Dr. Benjamin William Burkett, MD

My 10 year old son had a bike accident that required surgery the same day. Our Ortho. surgeon was out of town and Dr. Burkett was on call. I had heard good things before that were confirmed once meeting him. He listened, provided feedback and explained why he couldn't answer certain questions. I would reccomend Dr. Burkett. I called a day later with a question and recieved an immediate answer. Wonderful concerned and kind staff.

This Dr performed my hip replacement, and is currently helping me deal with pain in my other hip, he headshot been nothing but helpful and kind to me

He diagnosed my problem within 2 weeks after months of dealing with other doctors, who just kept prescribing steroids that did nothing. Took me off work, sent me to a rheumatologist, and helped so much.

Horrible bedside manners! He is VERY RUDE!! Parents have every right to ask questions about their child's care and he gets offended when questions are asked and becomes very rude with unnecessary comments.

Aftwr a car accident my husbands leg was broke in many places he has had staph 3 times last time ending up in hospital with high fever. He seems unconcerned and when we ask questions he told us we were giving him a headache. Seriously what a dr stay away

Was only office that I had been to that that u were back quick and the doctor explain to u what u needed to know.

I stepped on a nail during the early winter of 2015. Infection did not manifest itself for over a month. I had the disprivilege of meeting Doctor Burkett and his staff at Beptist Hospital in Madisonville, KY. The good doctor sent me home without any real method for wound care. When I demanded his office do the wound care, I got my dressing changed one time. After which, the nurse showed my wife how to do it. I had to beg for a better pain medication, even efter specifying that my pain threshhold was quite low. Needless to say, I couldn't bring myself to do my own wound care. My wife didn't have the stomach for it either. I missed the second follow-up appointment due to thinking it was later in the day. After realizing I had missed the time, I phoned his office. They never called me back, and after a while I decided not to pursue this with him or his office any longer. Thankfully, my wound healed without any further intervention. However, given my history of MRSA, I was appalled at the… lack of further antibiotics, even while the wound was still open. Doctor Burkett lacks a good bedside manner, and his staff is utterly awful -- from the receptionists to the nurses. I would not and could not give this doctor a decent review.

My mother went to Dr Burkett for consultation for a compression fraacture and possible kyphoplasty. Her primary care physician's office made the appointment. After waiting over 2 hours we finally saw the doctor. He came in and didn't introduced himself and said "well what are you here for today?" After filling out 5 pages of forms I wondered why he didn't know why we were there! Then he looked at her MRI images and said he could do the procedure but he didn't think it would do any good. Also, could put her in a brace but didn't think that would do any good either. After I asked a couple of questions and I got what I felt like was just smart aleck answers, we were done with him.

this doctor not only didn't listen to me when i talked to him, he actually asked me "what do you want me to do?" I had broken my L3 vertebra and my doctor sent me to him thinking he could help me
