After 14 months of seeing doctors and 2 trips to Mayo we drove from Chicago to see this guy after 2 doctors thought my issue might be neuromuscular (Ive had everything else ruled out). Seems like a nice guy but really didnt listen to me at all. I have chunks of muscle missing from my back, tons of muscle twitches, tons of atrophy, and many general symptoms of ALS. We left Cleveland CLinic with not having so much as a blood test. He suggested my muscle atrophy/loss was age-related (I was in the best shape of my life before this and am an avid weightlifter...its not) and suggested I need to see therapist (this is doctor speak for I dont know whats wrong with you). Oh, did I mention in the first line of his post clinic notes he said "I was seen in clinic for amyloidosis?" Huh? Didnt even mention that other than I had that ruled out at Mayo. You wouldnt even see a neuromuscular doctor for that, youd see a oncologist. Very odd Steer clear if you have something majorly wrong with… you.
