Dr. Crane and his team. Following a significant sudden hearing loss in my left ear, I sought Dr. Crane’s expertise for my cochlear implant surgery.Dr. Crane is a highly professional and skilled surgeon. While some reviews have criticized his bedside manner, I found him to be personable, attentive, and direct. He thoroughly explained the procedure, addressed all of my questions, and clearly outlined the associated risks and benefits. If you are seeking the highest level of specialized ear care, I believe Dr. Crane is the ideal provider.The entire medical staff provided remarkable care throughout the process, including the assistant surgeon, Andrew, and the anesthesiologist. Additionally, my audiologist, Megan, has demonstrated extraordinary patience and understanding during my follow-up appointments.I travel a considerable distance to Rochester for these visits and would gladly travel further to remain with this team !

I met him for the first time on 12/6/24 after my physician of 43 years retired. He had horrible bedside manner and made me feel as if I was wasting his time. He barely spoke to me except to ask why I was there. He looked in my ears, then left. I plan to search for a new physician.

Wow. I agree with these reviews. His PA was super nice. Good listener. Dr Crane comes in smirking. Rude. Arrogant. Mumbled something about women. Menopause. Dismissed my vertigo. (I’ve fallen twice with significant injuries). I couldn’t believe it. What a schmuck. I’m a RN. I deal with Drs and I have never seen anyone as bad as him. So full of himself. It’s the first time I’ve ever felt dismissed. I will go back to my primary ENT I will ask her to stop referring to that a$$. Unbelievable

FAIR AT BEST HIS INTERN SAW ME FIRST SHE WAS VERY ROUGH DID NOT EXPLAIN WHAT SHE WAS DOING LOOKED VERY PERPLEXED AT WHAT I WAS SAYING DR. CRANE WAS MUCH BETTER. 3 HOURS NO DIAGNOSES WILL NOT BE RETURNING OR RECOMMENDING HIM OR HER IN THE FUTURE..THE SUPPORT STAFF WAS GREAT.

No bedside manner, very arrogant. Couldn’t be bothered to really engage, he acted bored and smirked the entire time. I mentioned how excellent a previous (now retired) ENT I saw there years ago was and he actually rolled his eyes. I felt like I was in an SNL skit with Bill Hartman, very bizarre behavior. His intern was excellent though and staff was great. I would return to this practice, but I would see a different doctor. I absolutely would never go back to him.

I saw Dr Crane in 2017, first his resident came in - she was terrible and said I never told her I was hearing my heartbeat in my ears (even though that was the reason for my visit!). Dr Crane came in, told me I have benign intracranial hypertension, told me to lose weight and prescribed me a medication - he told me the meds probably wouldn't do anything so most likely not worth taking. I've done so much research on IIH since then and wish he actually educated me on the disease (like you can lose your vision from it!!), instead of brushing it off like just an annoying sound in my ears. I would have pursued ACTUAL treatment back then. Terrible!

Bad person. Very rude.not comforting..fast garbage diagnosis...needs to be disbarred..

The staff are all very courteous and helpful but he is not at all! Dr. Crane makes you feel like you are a bother to him and that he can hardly tolerate taking care of his patient! He is a condescending snobby man and by the way even doctors hold the same opinion of his manner and how he treats people! I would love to know just exactly why he went into medicine...perhaps Wall Street would have been a better fit for him because clearly he does not care about people! I wish that he would get his act together for his patients! Shame on him!

I saw Dr. Crane more than once and my experience was the same each time. The wait time to get an appt with him is very long, only to be seen by his PA first, and only seeing Dr. Crane for 5 mins or so at the end of the visit. He generally agrees with the PA’s findings. His overall bedside manner is nothing to be desired. His exams are minimal (as he appears to just follow the conclusion of the PA’s exam), he minimized concerns and made me feel like what I was feeling or experiencing was not legitimate. He is definitely missing social cues and comes off pompous. Nothing about his care felt ‘patient-centered.’

I've been his patient for 8 years because he is a brilliant surgeon. However, I can't stand my appointments with him. He is disrespectful and makes me feel scared. He doesn't ask me to move my head, he jerks it around. He doesn't tell me before he touches me or does anything, including uncomfortable procedures. He did something that made me dizzy and had me leave the room before I felt better and I almost fell. Don't see him.
