Dr. Benjamin Lawrence Hanson, DDS

I was having a lot of pain and needed a root canal. I was very nervous but Dr. Hanson made me feel comfortable and I experienced no pain. Staff is also very kind. Highly recommended

Dr. Hanson doesn't come off as concerned about my problem. His concern seems to be with guiding me to the most costly option. I've experienced it regularly in the past couple of years as his patient. Not very good at listening to the actual problem or working toward a solution. Every other dentist I've seen will say "Save the tooth". This doctor says, "Pull the tooth and buy one of my new, shiny $3000 replacement teeth" - on multiple occasions for different teeth. I don't have rotting teeth. And I don't believe pulling a tooth just to sell a replacement is the only option. He really needs to try being more concerned about the patient rather than how best to drain every nickel out of the patient's insurance, which also seems to occur annually. I hate the thought of having to change dentist, but I really feel I'm out of options. I'm getting nowhere.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!! Dr. Ben Hanson should not be in practice. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN TO HIM!! My 5 year old went to him this morning for a toothache. We found out he had an abscess. Rather than drain it or medicate it they decided pulling it was the best option since it was a baby tooth. The nurse was very kind, she put on the nitrous and kept my son calm. However, when the dentist began injecting the numbing meds my son began crying. The doctor told him to hold still he hadn't even begun yet. He said but you're hurting me. The dentist then proceeded to loudly tell him, while grabbing his cheeks, you are not allowed to cry in my office so stop! Keep in mind he has an abcessed tooth and is in pain (WHY WOULD YOU GRAB SOMEONES CHEEKS WHEN THEY ARE SEEING YOU FOR TOOTH PAIN!) This is obviously scary to a child and he continued sobbing. The dentist told him you need to breath through your nose not your mouth. Through his tears he said I can't my nose is stuffy. The IGNORANT… DENTIST PUT HIS HAND OVER MY CHILDS MOUTH!! I turned to grab my coat so we could just leave and turned to see the dentist had already yanked out the tooth dropped it on the tray and left the room. OMG!!! NEVER EVER VISIT BROWNSTOWN DENTAL CARE!! Then as we are leaving the office the secretary tells me, the dentist said you need to take him to a pediatric dentist from now on. Really?!? If he thought we would be back he's out of his mind!! Whoever licensed this psycho needs to rethink that decision.
