Dr. Benjamin Matthew Hicks, MD

I have a brittle bone disorder, and have had around 150+ fractures in my life and I am only 25. I have had a lot of experience with doctors and Dr. Hicks was one of the worst I've had. I had an appointment with Dr. Hicks after a femur and pelvis fracture that put me in the hospital for 3 days. On the day of my appointment I asked them to take as little x-rays as possibly because I had just started new job and my health insurance hadn't started yet. They took 9 x-rays which costed me around $600. At first, I understood that they felt they needed to do that so they could get the whole picture of what was happening. However, after waiting about an hour, Dr. Hicks comes in, doesn't introduce himself, pull up one x-ray says it's healing, tells me to go to PT, and leaves. The whole interaction was about 2 minutes. He did not allow me to say was my pain level was (it was still very high and I was out of pain meds), ask how it was affecting me, or anything. As a person with a very rare… disability that few doctors have much knowledge about, I often have to discuss issues with my doctor's in length to formulate the best treatment. I felt brushed off, ignore, and it gave me the feeling that I was a nuisance and shouldn't be wasting his time. Do not go to Dr. Hicks if your case is anything but the typical injury or if you want to really understand what is going on.

Dr. Hicks became my doctor after a motorcycle accident where I broke my shoulder and tibia at the knee. He surgically repaired my shoulder and opted to fix my leg with a brace and then physical therapy, although we’re still working on it. I can not say enough about the surgery repairing my shoulder. A true artist. Professional and compassionate. I feel I could not have had better care.

He is the best doctor i have ever had. He is personable, kind, and very intelligent. He has taken care of everyone in my family. Best orthopedic doctor in indiana. He has amazing staff to top it off.

He repaired my 9 year old sons radial and ulnar fracture and did an excellent job. Healed perfectly and he is so kind and compassionate. Today he removed the hardware from both of those fractures and again so caring and personal with his patients and their families. He was recommended by a coworker of mine that also works with him and rightfully so!

Dr. Hicks is amongst the greatest and carrying physician I have ever had! His â??personalâ?? approach and professionalism makes him a one-of-a-kind physician.

A very nice man and a fabulous surgeon! In 2009 and repaired my badly fractures clavicle (it was in 3 pieces) and two months ago he did bilateral knee replacements. The outcome is wonderful!

Dr Hicks did an excellent right clavicle repair on me a few years ago. Super nice man and I have had no problems with the repair. The clavicle was in three pieces!

Having been a patient of Dr. Hicks for more than 15 years, I can say wholeheartedly there is none more caring or professional. His gift as a surgeon is a true blessing from God.
