Dr. Benjamin Kamel is a highly trained and Board Certified foot and ankle surgeon. Dr. Kamel received his medical degree at the Western University of Health Sciences where he graduated near the top of his class with honors and was inducted into the Pi Delta Honor Society. Dr. Kamel completed intensive surgical training locally with the added credential in Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery (PMSR/RRA). He also was elected and served as Chief Resident in his final year of residency. During his residency training, Dr. Kamel worked at many different hospitals, most notably completing sports medicine training at Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital as well as a high-level trauma rotation at Kaiser Permanente under some of the best-trained surgeons in the profession.Dr. Kamel has received extensive surgical training in all aspects of the foot and ankle including sports medicine, trauma, forefoot &rearfoot reconstructions, flatfoot correction, bunion correction, cosmetic surgery, pediatric …foot conditions, as well as surgical treatment of degenerative and arthritic conditions affecting the foot and ankle.Dr. Kamel has co-authored and published several research articles in the field of foot and ankle surgery. He has also lectured at national conferences on topics related to sports medicine. He is currently clinical faculty at Western University of Health Sciences where he works with and teaches medical students and residents. He is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery.Dr. Kamel was born and raised in Southern California. He loves to watch and play sports, especially football, and basketball. During his free time, Dr. Kamel enjoys exercising, spending time with his family, and traveling with his wife.Dr. Kamel is a compassionate and highly skilled surgeon who treats all of his patients like his own family. His main objective is for the very best outcomes and to get you moving on your feet pain-free. He is fluent in English and Arabic.

Even though foot surgery was a very painful experience for the first month, the surgery turned out to be very successful. Dr. Kamel explained everything that was going happen and be done both during surgery and afterwards. My follow-ups went very well, and I've healed quickly and faster than expected. In addition, his Assistant, Julie, was very helpful, as well.

I broke a couple of bones in my foot and was treated by Dr.Kamel. Dr.Kamel was very attentive, in a good mood and took the time to listen to my concerns. After my bones healed he sent me to physical therapy to recover from the muscle loss from being in a boot for 4 months. He made sure I was able to recover properly and then return to work.

It was great to feel like he knew my problem and working to achieve the best possible outcome. Appointment were always quick and I left everytime feeling like I was heard and was in the best care

I began my visits with Dr. Kamel in the summer of 2022. What we thought may just be some tendon issues turned out to be a torn peroneal tendon. He listened, offered non-surgical interventions, and when those didn't work we ran further diagnostic tests and discovered the tear (which required surgery). The entire team from the front office at Garey Orthopedic, assistants and surgical team were fabulous. They followed up, always had a smile when they saw me, and seemed genuinely invested in my healing. Thanks to Dr. Kamel I am doing great and looking forward to wearing heels in the near future. If I could give Dr. Kamel and his care team more stars I would.
