Dr. Benjamin Lam, DO

In my opinion Dr. Lam is a horrible surgeon and is highly unethical. He destroyed my upper and lower eyelids. My lower eyelids droop down like a hound dog and you can see the white part of the eye under my iris. This is called lower eyelid retraction with scleral show. He completely hollowed out my upper eyelids. This is called an A frame deformity. He removed all the fat so I just have huge hollow indentations underneath my eyebrows. He obliterated my eyelid crease and made it so high its just sucked into the dent.

DO NOT TRUST DR. BENJAMIN LAM! Do NOT assume that every surgeon at Bucks County Plastic Surgery is competent because Dr. Lam is not. Dr. Lam is the worst professional I've ever crossed paths with. not only did a really bad surgery job but he has never taken any responsibility whatsoever for his sloppy work afterwards! MY STORY: During the consultation I told Dr. Lam that I did not want big breasts, that I was seeking plastic surgery because I wanted my breasts to be younger-looking. I only wanted modest increase in breast size, stating to him emphatically that "I don't like the big-breasted look." He assured me he would make my breasts 'only moderately larger.' His last words to me were, "You will be happy with the results." To my enormous regret I was sucked in to Dr. Lam's dishonest sales pitch. ...and thus it was to my horror that I woke up to find my breasts were so large that I now required G / DDDD cups. That's HUGE! So huge that bra companies only make one size… larger--an "H"! And believe me, G / DDDD cup bras are gigantic, ugly things, bigger than Edith Bunker would wear. HOW COULD DR. LAM DO THIS TO ME! I paid Dr. Lam at least $13,000 trusting that he would make my body look more attractive but instead I look like a fat cow and my body is so top-heavy that it's now hard to find clothes that fit or look good on me! I told Dr. Lam right away afterwords that I was not happy with the outcome but he continuously refused to take any responsibility for it. He would stonewall me, just sit there glaring at me in a 'How dare I' kind of way. I left messages with his office manager, sent emails, tried to talk to him in person, all to no avail. He NEVER offered me a revision, even though the fault was his for not giving me only a MODEST increase. Finally someone online suggested that I ask him for a revision, and I did--and Dr. Lam sent me a "Cosmetic Estimate" for another $13,000--which means the total cost for me to have a (decent-looking) breast revision and abdominoplasty would cost me $26,000 through him! Dr. Lam also lies--anything to avoid responsibility. When I mentioned I lost a few pounds, he (dared to) say, "I put in implants that were the right size for you when you weighed more." [6 lbs. more, REALLY? All of which I've gained back anyway!] He's the King of Liars! And I've had surgeons--competent surgeons--I've consulted since tell me that the 575cc implants Dr. Lam apparently chose for me were 'way too large. My breasts look like two watermelons! Then, too, Dr. Lam implies that everything is MY fault. His attitude is, "Well, you were happy in the beginning, you've simply just changed your mind." [No, I was NEVER happy!] OR that "Too much time has passed so it's not even like the same surgery." [But the passing of time was because HE refused to even address my concerns!] Now it's not even a matter of choice--it looks like I'm going to have to spend another $13,000 - $17,000 to UNDO the hideous damage that Dr. Lam has done to my body because I can't stand the way I look! But it gets worse. Not only do I look hideous; not only did I waste $13,000 and will now have to spend another up-to-$17,000 just to repair the damage Dr. Lam has caused to my physical appearance; but ever since the abdominoplasty I have had severe back pain and shortness of breath, health problems I had never had before. Now I have to see other doctors, just to deal with these new health problems. I don't know what Dr. Lam did to me while I was on the table but I've only heard of one other abdominoplasty patient who has had pain and shortness of breath afterwards--and for me the pain and s.o.b. from Dr. Lam's abdominoplasty have gone on for over 2 years now. Ask my family--I have never seen them so worried about my health. Dr. Lam is the most uncaring, irresponsible physician I have ever met in my life. I do not recommend him. And again--do not assume that every surgeon at Bucks County Plastic Surgery is competent because they are not.

Dr. Lam and his aesthetician have performed various procedures and treatments for a couple of my family members and myself. Both of them were very thorough in what we wanted and if they could provide that. Not only have they done so, but results are better than expected. And more importantly, what is realistic. He truly cares about how his work and making the patient happy. He is so upbeat and has a great bedside manner. Will continue to go to his office for any surgical and aesthetic treatments such as body contouring and facials.

I was 20 and had a cyst behind my ear that needed to be, my dermatologist referred me to Dr. Lam. On the day of the surgery they insisted I take the full anesthetic treatment, but I hate the way it makes me feel and I had work later that day, a local anesthetic would be fine.

I went to Dr. Lam for a Botox treatment. At my first visit he came in, talked to me, and then left. When his assistant came back to wrap things up I asked what happened - when would I be receiving the treatment? She was surprised and said he had left for the day; that the scheduler must have made a mistake because he thought it was only for a consultation (which I was very clear about when scheduling - this was not my first time and I did not need one). I was asked to come back the following week, which I did, and received the treatment. He asked that I come back one week later so that he could evaluate the results. I went back, now the third week in a row, and waited for about 45 minutes as I was told he was running behind. He came in and apologized profusely for being so late and when he looked at the results he seemed surprised that it appeared not to have taken very well. He assured me that he guarantees his results and asked that I please come back in for a very quick… follow up visit again in one week's time. I agreed to come back, yet again. Now back for my fourth visit, I was waiting, and waiting, and was in a hurry because this was supposed to have been a very quick, follow up visit. I was told that he was unavailable and was running behind and I could either come back the following week or wait. After having waited nearly 1/2 hr I told them I could not wait any longer - I needed to pick up my children and I asked that they speak with him and ask him to take me right away. They said there was nothing they could do, they had no room for me, so I had to leave. I called the following week and told them that I was very upset and frustrated and asked that Dr. Lam call me back to discuss. I received no call back so I called again a few days later, again requesting a call back from Dr. Lam. I never received any follow up call from him to date and it has been over a month since my last visit.

I was getting a breast lift/augmentation & liposuction. I told Dr. Lam emphatically at the pre-surgery exam and the day of surgery, I only wanted to go back to being a C cup, no bigger. When I woke, I found out he gave me D cups, and at post surgery appointments he said he thought that was more in my body type. At one appointment I commented to the woman taking me to the exam room that he made my boobs too big. She didn't flinch, or look surprised. I get the feeling that he regularly does this.

He is such n upbeat and happy person.he did myTT 11 weeks ago and I am so glad I chose him as my surgeon. He and Stephanie have been wonderful an so carrying through this long difficult painful procedure .
