Dr. Benjamin Clayton Mcintyre, MD

Dr. McIntyre is a double board certified plastic surgeon specializing in aesthetic plastic surgery and oncologic reconstruction. His plastic surgery training was completed at the University of Virginia in 2010 and a subsequent fellowship in cancer reconstruction in 2011. He routinely performs all types of oncologic reconstruction, but has an added focus on breast reconstruction following lumpectomy or mastectomy. Dr. McIntyre brings great experience in nipple sparing mastectomy reconstruction, DIEP flaps, perforator flaps and expander and implant reconstructions. He was the first person to offer DIEP flap reconstruction in Columbia, SC and has developed a team dedicated to this type of surgery. Many of Dr. McIntyre's patients travel great distances to seek consultations regarding complex or revisionary procedures with him. Also of great interest, Dr. McIntyre has been working on techniques to greatly improve pain management with his patients and has been able to provide near painless …surgery to many of his patients with the use of long acting anesthetics.

Dr. McIntyre's aesthetic practice focuses on body contouring, facial aesthetics and nasal surgery (rhinoplasty). His experience with complex reconstructive surgery gives him a special eye for aesthetic surgery as one must truly be a master of the aesthetic form in order to achieve consistently good results as a reconstructive surgeon. This enables him to approach the rhinoplasty or facelift patient with comfort and confidence. He also routinely performs body contouring procedures such as breast lift and enhancement, liposuction, tummy tuck and 'mommy makeovers.' For those patients interested in nonsurgical rejuvenation, his practice offers Botox, Juvederm, Restylane, Radiesse, Voluma, Belotaro, Xeomin, chemical peels and laser resurfacing. Additionally, coolsculpting, a noninvasive modality to freeze fat away, was recently added to his practice.

Most aesthetic and many reconstructive procedures can be done in office in an AAAHC certified surgery center. Overnight stay is available to patients whose procedures are more complicated.
