Dr. Benjamin Lee Ose, MD

Dr Ose saved my life. I have dealt with mental health issues most of my life and thought depression and anxiety was just something I had to learn to live with. Previous visits to therapists were not at all helpful. Medication helped, but didn’t cure. With therapy, medication adjustments, and EMDR I am in complete remission.

What makes Dr. Ose exceptional among the several therapists I have seen is that he provides a holistic approach to managing my anxiety and depression. He applies a systematic framework during sessions that measure my emotional baseline and then recommends exercises (breathing, meditation) and tools (mood journal, books) to manage my anxiety and depression. In addition, Dr. Ose has a calming and warm demeanor that puts me at ease and allows me to be fully present.

Dr Ose runs hot and cold. Sometimes he is empathetic but sometimes he has a bad habit of making shaming statements. As a survivor trauma his shaming tactics only served to further traumatize me. Ose has some good practices but when he gets mean it is very damaging.

I did not have the best experience with Dr. Ose during the most troubling time in my life (2019) after numerous deaths of loved ones that occurred over the past 3 years -the most recent being this one. I felt I could have improved a lot under his care but for some reason despite my strongest efforts I was unable to convince him of that and felt judged and mistreated. However, I will admit it has been a difficult time of loss an grief in my life - making everything a lot harder, and I cannot say that he was wrong as my grieving is just too much - however, he certainly could have been more sensitive and gave me a third chance given the circumstances. To commend him highly, however, the psychotherapy he offers is truly life changing and there aren't many M.D.'s who offer this. Thus, if you can get him to be compassionate to your situation - by all means establish the bond with him. I hope he also learns from my feedback as I learn from his. There are less psychotherapists with M.D.'s… and our nation's Psychiatry is focused on an M.D. component and a LCSW component. And I find that even though I love everyone I've worked with in both systems, the only one that has truly worked is the first (where there is Psychiatry & Psychotherapy done by the same practitioner.) This is also why Dr. Ose bills and has to manage everything as he does due to the fact it is very difficult to find a physician to offer this important and in my strong opinion superior way to treat patients who suffer from trauma, ADD, or depression/anxiety. I hope that I can find another Dr. as good as Dr. Ose to help me one day and advocate for me. As those of us who suffer need that advocate sometimes, one that is a physician.

Dr. Ose has been my Psychiatrist for several years. He has managed my meds well and the suggestions he gives work.

Dr. Ose has provided me with new tools and perspectives that I never even considered for managing my ADHD and depression. And to be honest, I didn't see that coming. These are not your stereotypical exercises... I've learned so much from Dr. Ose on how to make decisions, be more productive at work and how to spend more time doing what makes me happy and fulfilled. Dr. Ose is also a great person. From the moment I met him, I could tell that he was committed to helping me find the best approach for my depression and ADHD... and he did... and I'm so very thankful that I found him.

Dr. Ose helped me through a very difficult time in my life, I was so lost and sad. After seeing him for therapy, I can truly say that my life was so positvely impacted that even years later--I still find myself repeating his tips and phrases. My improvement was dramatic, but it took time as I waited so long to seek help. However, my results were lasting. Dr. Ose was 100% professional and compassionate; it was refreshing to recieve this type of care. He is very aware and skilled at managing the overlap between medical and psychiatric disorders. I would absolutey recommend his services.

Dr. Ose is a compassionate, caring doctor. He helped me during a very stressful time in my life. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs psychiatric care.
