Dr. Benjamin Philosophe, MD

Dr. Philosophe and his assistant Mary were amazing! My mother's gallbladder was causing a lot of pain. Her gastro told her she had cirrhosis and would need a liver transplant! My mother has a lot of auto immune issues and has had a heart attack. I took her to several doctors who recommended a liver transplant (which in her case is risky). We were referred to Dr. Philosophe who was a God send! He assured us he could remove the gallbladder and even though she has a unhealthy liver (NASH), he was confident she would be fine. The physicians assistant Mary came in after the doctor to discuss scheduling. My mother of course was crying and worried about surgery. She did not understand how this happened because she does not drink. Mary was wonderful, comforting and explained it to her in simple terms. Her surgery went well, she is still in the recovery stage. We are very grateful for the doctor and his staff. I highly recommend Dr. Philosophe and staff.

Dr. Philosophe successfully transplanted a liver to my wife when he was with the U of MD; a remarkable physician, totally knowledgeable. A pleasure to work with, very attentive after the procedure was completed, even on the week-end.
