Dr. Benjamin Mario Piperno, MD

When I had almost given up on finding an answer, he listened to me thoroughly and discussed a plan. He is very calming, knowledgeable, skilled, and an exemplary physician. I feel lucky to have found him as my surgeon not once, but twice for different reasons.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Dr. Piperno was my breast surgeon. He performed a bilateral mastectomy and worked in tandem with my Plastic Surgeons so that I could have breast reconstruction surgery at the same time. Dr. Piperno took a lot of time to explain the surgery and answered all of my questions. The surgery went well with no complications. He is my favorite surgeon.

Three years ago, Dr. Piperno saved my mom's life in an emergency surgery; she likely would not have survived the night. I'm so glad he was the angel we were sent that day. He is a highly skilled surgeon and a compassionate human. We are forever and profoundly grateful for him.

Great caring doctor

I had surgery for hemorroides and it was a success!!! He did tell me that it was going to be painful but only for a few days and sure enough!! Dr was always available if I needed him. Thank you!!

I had an appendectomy in 2011. I was in more pain after the surgery than before. Dr. Piperno stated he had used three incision sites for the laparoscopy and removal of my appendix and only used one incision (in a less prominent area) on a person concerned about their apperance such as models. I have three scars, all above my bikini line. I guess he didn't consider me a model, so I wasn't as important as someone better looking. I complained about severe pain and bruising after the surgery. He said it was normal. I visited my primary care physician seven days after the surgery. He was shocked to see the "work" that had been done on me and the resulting bruising and scars. I had an emergecny and expected Baptist South to have surgeons who treated their patients like they would want their family members to be treated. That did not happen and I would not recommend this physician to anyone.
